Joseph Repeta

Joseph (Joe) Repeta, born on June 4, 1969, in Elk Grove Village, was a cherished son, sibling, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He passed away on April 14 at the age of 54.

Joe was the youngest child of Arthur (Big Art) and Shirley Repeta and was raised in a loving home alongside his five siblings: Art (Holly), Kitty (Tony), Judy (Steve), Jim, and Freddy. He brought joy, laughter, and a little bit of chaos to his family from the moment he entered their lives. Joe was also an uncle to 11 nieces and nephews and great-uncle to 12 great-nieces and nephews. In addition, Joe was the proud papa to his beloved cat Tigs. 

An avid outdoorsman, Joe found solace and joy in nature - it was where he connected to his faith the most. Fishing and hunting were not just hobbies for him but passions that brought him closer to the world around him. Some of Joe's fondest memories were on fishing and hunting trips with his buddies and brothers (and buddies who were brothers).

In honoring Joe's memory, let us celebrate the warmth, kindness, and laughter he brought into the world. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. We're sure he's up in heaven now reeling in a big fish and cracking jokes with the angels.

Family and friends are working on putting together a memorial benefit and fundraiser to honor Joe's life later this summer. Rest in peace, dear Joe. Catch a big one for us.
