MY son Joseph was NOT born in Philadelphia, he was born in Elkins Park, PA.,as were his 2 younger siblings, Sean Varley and Caitlin Varley. Joe was a retired Air Force veteran who served our country proud for 18.5 years. As his mother, I believe this is so unfair, unjust on so many levels. We as a WHOLE FAMILY unit wished to have his final resting place in a veterans cemetery, Washington Crossing Cemetery in PA., where his grandfather is, unfortunately this will never happen, we can never visit him physically yet the memories of my Joe will remain as long as my heart beats. PTSD takes 22 veterans lives every day, my son did not die in vain he died from the pain. We will all reunite one day my beautiful, funny boy. I loved you from your first kick I will love you for infinity, Mom
Caitlin Brennan (Varley)
My brother was an amazing man. He touched so many lives and his smile could light up a room. I will always remember our late night chats & although it was common for us to go months and years without speaking, I'll never forget the countless hours we spent laughing and catching up. Joe meant more to my family & I than words could ever describe & we will continue to carry him with us as we travel through life. We love & miss you very much, Joe(y).

My PRECIOUS COUSIN Joseph Ferrizzi served in our US AIR FORCE & made such a wonderful impact along with many wonderful achievements during his meaningful lifetime. He was a Father, Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin & Friend .... as well as said Husband. His smile entered the room before he did & his fun sense of humor & hugs will forever be treasured along with so many wonderful memories! His Daughters, Mother, Siblings, Family & Friends deserve to have closure & mourn this beautiful lifetime we all had with him. PTSD impacts millions & many of them being our Heros who have served this AMAZING COUNTRY we live in. PTSD assists in isolating our loved ones while holding them prisoner to such pain & suffering that it becomes to hard to reach. I am praying with every ounce of my being that the only right humane thing to do happens.... that he can come home & have the PROPER RESPECTFUL burial that he SO deserves with his loved ones by his side. I am holding onto hope & will not let go until we can lay you to rest in this way. My heart knows that you are surrounded by our Heaven Angels who have left us already... Your Dad, Grandfather & other family & friends. May God & all of our Angels hold you close until we meet again. May God help us in making this right for you. I love you my Joey.... Rest In Peace my precious one.... You are forever treasured!! Tina, Uncle Butch, Anthony, Chris, Amanda & MANY Ferrizzi Family Members

I pray for this family who is dealing with so much pain and sorrow beyond words. One person can change all of that and do that right thing. Give this man what he deserved and what he worked his whole entire life for. God is good all the time. Evil will never prevail

Dearest Joey, Thank you for your service! Diana, if you read this I hope & pray that you will look into your heart & give consideration to give our SERVICE HERO a proper closure rather than a 3 sentence obituary. I am Joeyâ??s Uncle Butch Ferrizzi & his Dad was my Brother Ray. Our whole family was so proud of Joey & his service to our Country for 18 years. Our whole Family is shocked at why & how this occurred. We grieve deeply as I hope you do. Bad enough the results are what they are but why add insult to injury. Please let him be interned in a special place benefitting an American Hero, along with his Grandfather, in a National Cemetery with Honors & have proper closure for all of us LOVING Family Members. Joey, God Bless & keep you. You are a TRUE HERO to all of your family & all of America. We love you... Uncle Butch
Ann Ferrizzi
Joseph Raymond Ferrizzi was my youngest brother; I was there for him from the time he was born. I helped care for him as a toddler and into his childhood ages. We remained close up to the time of his passing. Joey was a good kid, he was a happy kid, and he was a kind kid. He grew up to be a great man who served our country from the time he was 18 yrs. old never really having a normal life like most 18-20 yr. old. His life was spent in the Air Force up until last summer when he was medically discharged. Joey was survived by two daughters, Abigail Ferrizzi and Gabriella Marie Ferrizzi, his siblings Raymond Ferrizzi, Ann Ferrizzi, James Ferrizzi, Sean Varley and Cait Varley. He was survived by his mother Jane McKee Varley, his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his wife Diana Ferrizzi. My heartfelt Condolences to All! My brother was a loving person with the best smile is the world, he was loved by all of his family and friends and he did love his family just as much. Joey was the type of person who always wanted to be a nomad; he wanted to live his life to the fullest and was excited about doing it. We would sometimes go long periods of time without talking, mostly due to his enlistment in the Air Force and deployments but we always made sure to circle back with each other. The last time I talked to Joey was about 3 yrs. ago when he was diagnosed with Lupus; he was so upset and wanted to make sure that I went to get tested to make sure I didnâ??t have it as well. This diagnosis was very upsetting to him as he thought that it might cripple him and he wouldnâ??t be able to live a normal life. I tried to reassure him that many people live with the condition all their lives and that it was manageable, and assured him I would go get tested as well. After our dad died in 2003, Joey became very depressed and isolated, he couldnâ??t be there for his funeral as he was serving over in Afghanistan at the time and he really wanted to remember him as he was
