I met Brother Alade for the first time 1960, when His youngest brother Mr Abioye Ojo introduced me to Him as His girl friend.Brother Alade to Bioye and myself but Uncle Alade to our children. He gave me a very good impression for the first time. He was very kind and affectionate to me ,taken me as His baby sister. He left for London shortly after I got used to Him. When we met Him again in London 1963, He continue to treat me with kindness and affection. I had special affection and regard for Him and He knew it. Brother Alade always showed His gratitude especially whenever He was unwell . He loved my husband with genuine affection and iam grateful to Him. I'll miss you and will for ever miss you. May the wind always be at your back, may the sun always warm on your face, may the road rise to meet you and until we meet again, may the Good Lord keep you in the hollow of His hands.

My Father, the late Chief Sina Ojo, came from a close-knit family. He and his Ibadan-based siblings all had their homes within a 10-minute walking distance from each other. This meant that we were fortunate to see a lot of our aunt and uncles, including Uncle Alade. I have many fond memories of the times daddy sent me to deliver messages to Uncle Alade and how welcoming he was each time. I recall also with warmness the Christmas lunches we shared in his house. May the soul of gentle Uncle Alade rest in peace and may God comfort us all. Amen.

Daddy, you have indeed lived a good life and we all will miss you. No one to call me Filipoo like you always did. Rest well in the blossom of the Lord. Amen

What can l say about Uncle? we called him Uncle Ojo or Lawyer Ojo. Uncle and my mom shared the same mother & birthday month. My best recollection of him was when l started nursing school in lbadan. l mostly remember helping him around the house before meeting Muyiwa’s mom.Witnessing the arrival of my nephews & niece was great. I was a constant visitor at Gbenro Ogunbiyi close, & spent most weekends there, and visited even after graduating & starting my own family. He always asked about the welfare of my siblings & their families. I recall Uncle talking about giving his life to Christ. His endearment towards his sister, my mom was evident during those years when she spent time at the house . He always introduced me to the Ojo family, Prof or Aunty Joko when they visited, We will miss you, Uncle, we love you, but God loves you more; Rest in perfect peace.

Tribute to my Dear Uncle – Barrister Joseph Adeleye Ojo (aka Uncle Alade) Barrister Joseph Adeleye Ojo was my Dad’s older brother and was fondly called Brother Alade by my Dad hence my siblings and I have always known him as Uncle Alade. Uncle Alade was a great Uncle and friend. Easy to approach and engage. He was a gentleman, humble and soft spoken. I got to know Uncle Alade even better in the last few years. He was humorous, affectionate and deeply religious. He had a great love for family. Every time I visited without my wife and children, he will ask about them by name. This meant a lot to me. His death is indeed a great loss to the Ojo ‘Badan family. My Dad in particular has lost his big brother and friend. He still has not come to terms with Uncle Alade’s death. Always asking “Is it true Brother Alade is dead?”. My wife and I will miss him as we looked forward to visiting him anytime we were in Ibadan. My children will also miss him I thank God for granting him long life and for the positive influence he had on the life of many including me. Rest in Peace my dear Uncle Alade Afolabi Ojo Mogaji Ile Ojo ’Badan

Uncle Alade as I have always referred to him was a gentle and unassuming person. Likeable and always welcoming and approachable, I have fond memories of our conversations about issues ranging from family matters to politics and sport. He liked football and took a keen interest in the fortunes of his beloved Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan. We attended many live football matches together in the company of my late father, Professor Wole Ojo and the late Mogaji of the Ojo'badan family, Chief Layi Ojo. Uncle Alade was caring and loving. On my visits to him in the last years of his life, no matter his physical condition he would always enquire about my wife and children, wanting to know their whereabouts and how they were. When my late mother celebrated her 90th birthday anniversary in 2020, he was unable to attend the festivities due to ill health. He came to the house the following day to felicitate with my mother. This must have been at great inconvenience to himself as he had to be moved about in a wheelchair. Though deeply saddened that you have left us, I am consoled by the belief that you knew the Lord during your lifetime and so must be in heaven with Him. Rest in peace my dear uncle. Your nephew Funso
