Hard to find words … I grew up next door to Jon (he was born the same year as my sister Kate), and he's stitched into a thousand memories from my childhood. Skating on the home-made rink his brother Dennis made every year in their backyard. Watching him get pulled along by Padre, the family's beautiful (and very energetic) black lab, when he took him for a walk. Jon opening the front door when my Mom sent me next door (for the hundredth time!) to borrow milk for our morning cereal. Jon giving me his paper route when he went on summer vacation. Growing up next to the same family all those years is something I took for granted, but now I feel what a special privilege it was. My heart is broken over this loss, and I'll keep all of these memories close, forever. Love to all of Jon's family.

Jon will be deeply missed by all of us. He was my first friend when I arrived in Victoria. He visited us also in India and we have so many fond memories of him - Sushanta Mitra, Jayeeta Mitra and Neil Mitra

Dearest Family of Jon's, What devastating news that I just read about today. I am so sorry for your loss. I loved my chats with Jon when we were parents of kids at Rideau Public School (his son Luke and our son Jonathan). He was passionate about cycling and all things good for the planet. The last time we met, it was cross country skiing at Little Cat. I loved hearing stories about his time skiing in Norway that he told with great enthusiasm! Our deepest sympathies to dear Stephanie, Luke, Liam, Anna and Blaise. Hugs. Wendy and Tim
