JP was truly the heart of the community and the spirit of Hunger Action LA. Over two decades that i knew him he constantly lit a fire under us to get things done for those who were doing without homes and food. He helped so many people on a personal basis too, that i never knew about until much later. After the pandemic hit he was first in line to volunteer to drive food to the homes of people stuck indoors due to quarantine and did this even up to a couple weeks before he passed. He will live on forever in our hearts and in the good he helped spread through the world. We will honor him now and through our continued fight for justice; in JP's immortal words that i will hear every day ringing in my ears, "Heads up!"
