Joseph Peters

Go now, our journey is done. And may we meet again in the clearing at the end of the path. Stephen King
Peters, Joseph Franklin
Joseph Franklin Peters escaped this mortal realm on May 21, 2024. He was 50. His sister believes he did it on purpose to avoid having to cast another vote in the American elections.
Joe was world-renowned for his generosity and kind disposition. He never met a stranger but he brought a few home (Richard, I’m sure you were his favorite). Joe offered a charm, wit, and undying love to those who were his friends. He was simply an amazing man, part saint, part sinner all bundled up into one scruffy package. If you were fortunate to have met him, you’d have liked him immediately. He was just that kind of person.
Joe wore many hats throughout his life. He studied culinary arts at his mother’s knee. His steak with Carciofi sauce was a remarkable meal. The recipe is untouchable… seriously, we can’t find it. If anyone has a copy, please let the family know. Joe was also an IT guru, and I know that loss will be felt among his colleagues. In the end, Joe was a picker, a grinner, a lover and a sinner. He was a joker, and a smoker and a midnight toker (ok maybe not). Some people called him the space cowboy and also the gangster of love. Some people called him Maurice, because he spoke of the pompatus of love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Peters and Mary (Polizzi) Peters, whom he loved until his dying day, as well as a cousin, all 4 grandparents, many aunts and uncles, and a few very near and dear friends. Anyone who knew Joe any length of time realized what an animal person he was. His heavenly reunion with friends and relatives will have to wait until he can get inside those gates. I have a feeling that heaven’s end of the Rainbow Bridge might be crowded with all the dogs Joe has loved in his life. Kisses, pets, scratches and belly rubs are expected.
Joe leaves behind his sister Franchesca (Peters) Gindler and his brother-in-law Michael Gindler, as well as a nephew Sam Gindler, and a niece Michaela Gindler. Other family members include a slew of cousins, aunts and uncles. Joe also leaves behind an entire family of friends in Georgia as well as those who have moved to the far corners of the earth.
The family will host visitors on Sunday June 2, from 3 p.m. - 7p.m. at Crusoe’s Bar and Grill in Oakville, Missouri.
Finally, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Sam’s Surgery Go Fund Me, or the Humane Society of St. Louis. But mostly, just remember to be kind and to help others when they can’t help themselves.

Cleo Heath Joe was so very gifted in many ways. His unique approach to life often times had me wondering, but it worked for him. While I have not seen Joe is quite some time and our connection was sporadic at best, when I did speak with him it was as if no time had passed and we always picked up where we left off. Rest easy Bro!!

Scott Delude I’m really ticked off that we let the miles get in the way of continued brotherhood. You’re the 2nd close friend that drifted that I never got to say goodbye to and I vow to not let that happen again so anyone reading this, please keep in touch with those that meant much to you years ago.
