"Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month.... And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them." (Revelation 22:1-5)
Heavenly food, joyful friends, fun card games, lots of laughter, and a generous heart.
That's the life I remember my mom loving to live. Always ready to bake a treat for a childhood friend or a lavish Polish guampkie dinner for our Christmas gatherings with family. Joan Glaser Herrmann just wanted to be with her husband and in the presence of her many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, in-laws, nieces, nephews, two children, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She just wanted to listen to that good old-time rock and roll or some loving Engelbert Humperdinck or melancholy Dean Martin or soothing gospel ballads.
Joan loved Jesus and listened to the sermons of Charles Stanley every Sunday she could. She often asked for God's help, peace, and comfort, especially in the last months. I believe our Father in heaven heard her prayers by taking her home where she is in the presence of the many family and friends that she laughed with, ate with, and played cards with for so many years past.
She is now living in pure peace and comfort in the presence of God Himself and at the river of life that flows from His throne. I can imagine her sitting on the grass, munching on the oh so heavenly food that lines its shores.
May we all eat with her again.

Cousin Bobby
I remember when my cousins Joan and Diane came to Clara Street when they moved from Detroit. Uncle Joe and Aunt Rose drove a c.1952 Mercury sedan. My first impressions of my cousins have lasted a lifetime. Joan was very kind. Diane laughed. Joan was sensible, pragmatic and wasn't easily fooled. At family gatherings, Joan was always there, a memorable presence. She was an excellent cook, carrying the Polish family dishes into the modern era. I was privileged to meet her Larry Herrmann in 2012. They were an ideal couple. I had heard of Larry often over the years in the context of their high school circle of friends. Joan was alway gracious, kind, loving and engaging. I remember her fondly.

Pat Jagosz Edouarde

Joan has always been the glue of our extended Jagosz family. She kept everyone informed of family events, new milestones, and a need for prayers as illness would strike a family member. I always felt connected to our family through her and appreciated the time she took to help us all sustain that connection. I loved her contagious laugh and smiles, and her close relationships with her family, especially her sister, my cousin, Diane. The two of them together were quite the pair, especially when Joan talked about Pierogi making at Xmas time. She loved to describe the chaos, silliness, and joy of those events. There was flour everywhere! That laughter, love, silliness, and kindness will always live on in my memories of her. The day she became Joan Herrmann is one of my fondest memories of her. Her marriage was such a beautiful personification of what love looks like when two people find each other in the second half of their journey through life. What a beautiful day that was, filled with joy and excitement for their future together. It goes without saying that she couldn't stop smiling that day, but neither could I, the excitement and love was too contagious. Dear Joan, I know you are with your special love right now, along with all our other wonderful relatives that we shared good times with too. Just let them win at poker or pinochle occasionally just to keep the peace. Love you always, Joan. Your cousin, Patty Jagosz Edouarde
