Joan Marianne Barry

Joan Marianne Barry (née Sparks) passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on November 14, 2025, at the age of 88.

• Greg Barry (Brittany): Brecklyn, Saunder, Everleigh

She will be dearly missed by all, including her 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Patrick James Barry, who passed away in 2019.

 

Born and raised on a farm near Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Joan grew up in a close-knit family with two brothers and two sisters.

 

Family was always at the center of Joan’s life. She was a wonderful baker whose warm kitchen welcomed everyone. A talented seamstress and devoted knitter, she created many cherished items for her family over the years. She loved tending to her flower gardens, watching them bloom under her care. Joan was also an avid reader—especially fond of a good mystery—and had a lifelong love of the colour purple.

 

Joan will be remembered for her gentle nature, her quiet strength, and the deep love and devotion she offered her family every day. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
