Jessica Nichole Griffin March 6, 1983 - April 18, 2023 RENO – Jessica Nichole Griffin (40) passed away last month on Tuesday, April 18th following a tragic incident near her home in Northwest Reno. Jessica was born and raised in Reno, Nevada in a close-knit family with her parents, Greer and Steve Griffin (deceased), brother, John Griffin, and her sister, Christy Stoll. They were a close, fun-loving group, who shared a deep love of time spent with family. Countless gatherings with her extended family always consisted of lots of hugs, numerous nostalgic stories, and sounds of laughter. Jessica cherished her siblings and cousins, and valued the time they spent with one another, no matter the duration. Jessica graduated from Bishop Manogue High School in 2002 and began working as a property manager for a local group that operated several living complexes. In 2007, she was blessed with a wonderful son, Aen Griffin (16), and fully immersed herself in the gift of being a mother, travelling to baseball games in the summer and ski slopes in the winter as the mother of a son involved in sports. She expanded on this role in 2013, welcoming the addition of a beautiful daughter, Sophia DiLoreto (10), raising her with grace and compassion, a love of travel, and a closet of gorgeous dresses arranged by color. Once her children were comfortably underway in school, Jessica made the brave commitment to attend Esthetician School, graduating in 2021 and operating under her own license at a local day spa. She enjoyed providing an elevated level of personal care, and this would go on to become an integral part of who she was, and how she treated those around her. Jessica enjoyed many roles in life which she handled with great pride – daughter, sister, aunt, esthetician, and friend. However, the role that gave her the most joy in life was being a mother. Jessica enjoyed ten years watching her children grow up together, instilled the importance of faith in Jesus Christ, and passed on her appreciation of family to them. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her children, and even on the most difficult days she would focus on them to bring her peace. Jessica described herself as the ‘protector’ of the family, always generous with words of encouragement, and able to speak on behalf of siblings and family members who might have difficulty finding words. Whether someone needed some support, some empathy, or just tough tenderness, Jessica was always willing to lend a loving hand. Jessica gave in death as she gave in life, donating corneal tissue as a final act of kindness before joining her father in heaven, with God. She took full advantage of each day, and you would find her running around town with her kids, meeting up to visit nieces and nephews, or spending time with one of her twenty-nine direct cousins. Jessica found ways each day to experience joy and connection with those around her, and, in turn, she shared joy with each of them. In addition to her mother, siblings, and children, she is also survived by Brother-in-law, Devin Stoll; Sister-in-law, Megan Griffin; Nieces, Kennedy Ball and Emory Stoll; and Nephew, Trace Stoll. Memorial Services will be held at Grace Church Reno – 1220 Robb Drive in Reno, Nevada, at 11:00am, with a reception following at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School’s Back Patio – 110 Bishop Manogue Drive at 2:00pm. When she found the time, Jessica enjoyed travelling to the Hawaiian Islands, which held a special place, influencing her both personally and professionally. Honoring this, kindly consider wearing tropical print or brightly colored dresswear to Jessica’s services.

So Jessica was always so welcoming and such a big supporter of my prison ministry to the point of even asking how she could support it from America. Always a smiling face that I really looked forward to seeing whenever I visited Reno.
