In Loving Memory of Jesse Johnson

1988 – 2025

In early May, we experienced an unimaginable loss with the sudden passing of Jesse Johnson—an unforgettable soul whose presence brought light, laughter, and love to everyone around him.

Jesse was one of those rare individuals who could make anyone feel at home. Charismatic, quick-witted, and endlessly kind, he had an innate ability to see the best in people and to reflect it back to them. He was the kind of person who didn’t just notice you—he truly saw you. Friends, family, coworkers, and even strangers were drawn to the warmth and genuineness that he radiated.

A natural storyteller and humorist, Jesse had a magnetic spirit that lit up every room—and every conversation. He was never afraid to be unapologetically himself, which made others feel free to do the same. He had a heart of gold and a knack for finding joy in the little things—always savoring the best parts of each moment, whether it was walking on the beach, laughing at a comedy show, or making music beats on his iPad just for fun.

Jesse was a traveler, a dreamer, and a creative force. From hiking through Colorado’s mountains in the rain to road-tripping to Costa Rica to start a business, he chased adventure with passion and courage. His love for the beach, California, and Hawaii reflected his free spirit, and his fascination with the world was matched only by his love for the people in it.

Professionally, Jesse thrived in the tech world—combining sharp intellect with playful curiosity. Whether teaching himself to fly drones, designing creative projects, or humorously hacking apps just to explore the possibilities, Jesse constantly found ways to innovate, learn, and connect.

He was also a giver in the purest sense—quietly generous and deeply empathetic. From surprise champagne drop-offs just to say "I'm back," to offering shelter to someone in need without hesitation, Jesse lived with compassion and intention. He believed in showing kindness without expecting it in return.

Jesse is survived by his loving family: his mother Ingrid; his father, Jesse; his brothers Tai, Taylor, and Kalomo; and his sister Aviva. He is also remembered by the countless friends whose lives he touched across cities, countries, and chapters of life.

Though Jesse’s time here was far too short, his spirit continues in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind. His memory lives on in the waves he adored, in the music he created, and in every moment where people come together to share kindness, connection, and joy—just as he did.

We will miss him more than words can ever express. But we know he is still with us—in the sparkle of the ocean, in a shared laugh, and in every act of wholehearted living.

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”—Pericles
