Jemila Love
September 19th, 1949 - August 31st, 2021
September 19th, 1949 - August 31st, 2021
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. - Kahlil Gibran
Jemila Love, age 71, of Long Beach, CA, transitioned Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 4:35 a.m. PDT, in Encinitas, CA, due to acute respiratory failure arising from Covid-19 and double pneumonia. She was born, September 19, 1949, in Los Angeles, CA, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen “Loretto” Richardson.
She was a registered nurse (RN). Her personal accomplishments and passions include working with end-of-life patients, serving officer in New Being Project, participating in various charitable causes, fund raising, hosting the annual Thanksgiving dinners for the local community, spearheading the annual Christmas toy project, founding of a local Star Trek club, achieving a high level of spirituality, and ascending to a higher frequency.
Jemila possessed an ethereal spirit. Her characteristics include a beautiful heart, an abundance of love, selflessness, benevolence, compassion, caring nature, charity, sweetness, gentleness, the gift of clarity of vision, a wonderful sense of humor, humility, and an angelic quality.
This story is a testament to the beautiful heart of Jemila. In early December 2019, she assembled a team consisting of Ruby, Arthur and herself. She explained there was a need to help a particular group of seniors. It was not a few seniors but rather all the residents of a senior care facility. She explained many of the residents had not received any visitors or Christmas gifts in years and that we had an opportunity to brighten up their day. She worked closely with an administrator of the facility to identify the needs of the residents. The prerequisite of the project was that it needed to be completed and delivered by December 23 with 120 Christmas theme gift bags consisting of a variety of personal hygiene products, socks, and scarves or knit caps. In addition, it was requested that the community be gifted coloring books, games and puzzles of various skill levels, coloring sets, makeup kits, and extra care products. The task was daunting with a time frame to complete all of this in two and a half weeks. Due to Jemila and her team’s dedication and hard work, not only were the gifts finished in time, but they were all delivered by December 23. There were so many gifts, a U-Haul van had to be rented to transport the gifts to the facility! But Jemila was not done yet. Most of the gifts were handed out at the Christmas party, but Jemila hand delivered gifts to seniors who were too sick to leave their rooms. She reported that all the seniors were so happy and smiling with many stating they had not received a Christmas gift in years. This project that Jemila undertook shows her compassion and her empathy for those less fortunate. The world has lost a truly beautiful human being.
Jemila is survived in her birth family by her brother Bob Richardson, her sister Patricia Mylius, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceeded in transition by her parents and her brother Gary Richardson.
In addition, she is survived by her Dharma brothers and sisters of her spiritual family and her teacher, Murshid Isa Love.
Thirdly, she is survived by her partner in love, Arthur Fong, his children and grandchildren.
A date for a memorial service has yet to be determined. It will be announced shortly through mykeeper.com Fly high, fly free our beautiful angel…

Think not of the loss of our beloved Jem, for within the slice of time our paths crossed, our lives, in the shadow of her light, was blessed with endless love and joy. For that, I am forever grateful. Think only, now that she is part of the cosmos of the great expanse we call the universe; she will be immortalized in our hearts. For that, we will forever carry her gift of love and joy.
