Jeannie Brown

Jeannie Brown passed away from natural causes on July 20, 2025, at the age of 72.

 

Jeannie was born on October 4, 1952 and was adopted shortly after by Charles and Inez in the small town of Brush, Colorado. After Charles passed when Jeannie was young, she and Inez moved to Denver, seeking better educational opportunities and a fresh start.

 

In the early 80s, Jeannie moved to Southern California with friends and then eventually settled in the greater San Diego area, building a life devoted to raising her son and growing ties with the local Deaf community. Despite navigating systems not designed for her, Jeannie strove to make the most of what they had. She was actively involved in the Deaf community socials, creating lasting connections and memories. Jeannie also had a great love for card games and spent many joyful evenings playing at home with family and friends or wherever good company gathered.

 

Throughout her life, Jeannie gave and shared what she could - her home, her car, volunteer hours, and her time - always willing to help a friend in need. Her legacy is this spirit of giving from one’s heart.

 

Jeannie is survived by her son Nathan, his partner Eileen, and their children, Brooke and Aubrey.
