Jeanna Suzanne Kerr

April 20th, 1968 - July 29th, 2022
"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, There is something you must always remember, You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think, But the most important thing is, even if we are apart, I'll always be with you." ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jeanna Suzanne Kerr on July 25th 2022. Jeanna passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, California.
Jeanna was born on April 20th 1968 to Ronald and Shirley Hagin in Los Angeles, California. Jeanna was a twin to her brother, Keith. Jeanna grew up in Orange County and graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1986. After graduating, Jeanna went on to pursue her education in early childhood development at Orange Coast College, leading her to a lifelong career as a preschool teacher.
Jeanna was a kind and gentle spirit. She has touched the hearts of countless families, through her profession as a preschool teacher. Her gift of working with young children was obvious, earning her accolades from co-teachers, staff and administrators. Jeanna’s most rewarding recognition came from the families of the children she taught.
Jeanna married Matthew Kerr in 1991. They were married for 18 years and had two children. Brady was born in 1996, and Jessica in 1998. Jeanna was a fiercely dedicated mother. Family came first and was above all else to Jeanna. Jeanna adored her children and showed her love in countless ways, from making home-cooked meals, volunteering at their schools and even coaching Jessie’s basketball and softball teams over the years. Jeanna loved music and was thrilled when Brady & Jessie decided to learn guitar and bass. She supported their love of music, taking them to practices and gigs, as a “Band Mom” to their rock & roll band. Crafting was one of her favorite hobbies. Over the years she expanded her skills to include woodworking and painting, creating the most special holiday decorations. She even started a side business and sold her special crafts through retail shops. Her simple and sentimental decorations now grace many homes, giving them a touch of Jeanna’s artistry.
Jeanna was predeceased by her father, Ronald Hagin and her grandparents. She is survived by many loving family members, including her son, Brady; daughter, Jessica; her mother, Shirley Hagin; her sister, Karin and twin brother, Keith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and close friends who were just like family to her. Mother, sister, friend, daughter, aunt, teacher - she will be missed dearly by everyone who had the fortune of knowing her kind heart.
A Service of Worship Celebrating the Life of Jeanna will be held on August 25th at The Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
From Brady and Jessie: Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to. She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put our needs before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity; we were blessed to have her as the head of our family. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
