Jeanette "Gran" Marie Reed (Patrick)

Jeanette was born to Annie M. Patrick (Foster) and Houston E. Patrick in Houston Texas on May 19th 1937. She passed away of natural causes peacefully at home on March 5th 2025. Jeanette was a mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Jeanette loved children and loved to take care of people. Jeanette had three children of her own Brenda Sue, Michael Lane, and Tina Jo Reed. She married Vernon H. Reed at 17 years of age and later divorced. Jeanette worked as a bookkeeper at Gordons Jewlers before having children. Later she worked as a switchboard operator, she worked at Van Leer Plastics, was an apartment manager and as a nanny for many families.

She attended Brookline Elementary, Jackson Junior High and Steven F. Austin High School. Jeanette loved music, crosswords, literature and was well read in many subjects before Google and the web existed. Jeanette had a library card everywhere she lived. Jeanette’s favorite authors were Nicholas Sparks and James Patterson.  

Jeanette always wanted others to be comfortable and feel taken care of. Jeanette was the oldest of four children. Jeanette Marie, Carol Ann of Galveston Tx., Houston Neil of North Carolina, Hope Eileen Patrick of San Antonio Tx.  

She is survived by her daughter Tina Jarman and husband Mark Jarman of Lubbock Tx. Grandchildren Sarah N. Jarman and Ryan A. Jarman of Nashville Ar. Great Grandchildren Alyssa K. Jarman, JudasJo Jarman, Hope E. Jarman of Nashville Ar., Caylee L. R. and Cameron G. Jarman of Post Tx. Levi M. L. Jarman, Keller L. Jarman, and Brooklyn M. Jarman of Lubbock Tx. One great-great grandchild Daizy A. L. Warren of Post Tx. Her siblings Carol A. Clark, Houston N. Patrick, and H. Eileen Pace. Her cousin Nita Ray Burrer and family.  

She is proceeded in death by her parents Houston and Annie Patrick (Foster), her daughter Brenda S. McKee, Her son Michael L Reed. Two grand children Krissi A. Garcia and Christopher Lane Jarman.

 

Memorial Services: A Celebration of life will be held with the family.
