Jean Louise Labbé Jones Olan, 70, passed away on June 11, 2020, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, after a brief battle with cancer. She was a warm, vibrant person who lit up any room she was in. She made friends everywhere she went.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Jean spent her working years in New York City where she built a successful career as an employment agency executive. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Edward Olan, her parents, Ernestine and Leon Labbé, and ex-husband, Kevin Jones.
She leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) Lowrey of Sheridan, Arkansas, step-children Sherri (Benny) Aharoni of Israel, Wayne (Susan) Olan of Potomac, Maryland, Adina (Ross) Ellick of Chappaqua, New York, as well as her sister Sharon (John) Ratajczak of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and brother Peter Labbé of West Palm Beach, Florida. Also left are her grandchildren Madeleine (Ben) Blakely, and Brennan (Shelby) Lowrey, as well as three great-grandchildren: Adrienne Blakely, Omri and Yuval Petrushansky. Step-grandchildren are: Shannen, Lindsey, Carey, and Jason Olan of Maryland, Jordan (David) Kaufman, Justin, and Elizabeth Ellick of New York, Racheli (Dmitri) Petrushansky, Yossi, and Adva Aharoni of Israel. She was a very special aunt to Brian (Emily) Ratajzcak and family, Brett (Carrie) Ratajczak and family, Brad (Amy) Ratajczak and family, Lori Garlock and daughters, and Cindy Malley.
For many years, Jean and Eddie kept a weekend home in Shohola, Pennsylvania. She loved to cook and entertain. The house in Shohola was always filled with love, friendship, and excellent cuisine. After her retirement, she moved to North Palm Beach, Florida. There, she was known for hosting boat parade parties on the Intercoastal Waterway and was a fixture at the pool where she loved to swim.
The family is making plans for a virtual memorial, with a later in-person gathering after pandemic has subsided.

Mom's remains were laid to rest on Tuesday, July 14th, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Illinois. Aunt Sharon and Uncle John were able to be there. There is a temporary label on the granite, and the brass plaque has been ordered. It looks like a lovely, sunny spot, which would have made her happy.

Found some old photos of Grandma Jean and Grandpa Eddie with their grandkids in 1996. Love and miss them both.
