Jean is survived by her husband, Sherwin; sister Janet Cothrell; sister-in-law Joan Flewelling; brothers-in-law Steve and Stan Flewelling; and cousins Ralph Courtney, Michael Courtney, and Laurie Shore. Her professional journey included roles at Bank of Tokyo, Security Pacific Bank, Seattle Pacific University, and a distinguished 22-year tenure at World Vision. She served at World Vision as the Business Operations Manager of the Artists Department, supporting performing artists who championed the charity's cause. Her work took her to places like Nashville, Uganda, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic, contributing to the organization's mission of aiding children in need. Outside of her career, Jean was an engaged member of her community, participating in a book club and serving on her church's board. Prior to her marriage, she was actively involved in community and local theater, notably contributing as a costume designer for various productions. Jean deeply cherished her friendships, colleagues and family and she expressed immense gratitude to all who supported her during her illness.

I have only known Jean a short time, I have been her dental hygienist the past couple years. She was such a special person, I was always left with positive memories after her appointments. I saw her a couple months ago and she talked with me about how she had accepted her passing was coming and she was not afraid of it.. but she was worried about Sherwin and making sure he was going to be okay without her. She was so thoughtful and caring and only worried about others. She will be missed tremendously by so many.

I met Jean in 10th grade, 1973/74 at Glacier High School. We became good friends. She then met my older sister Elise (Lisa) Pugh in the young adult class at Boulevard Park Church, They became best friends always. Jean was like another sister to me. So fun, and so kind to me. Jean was my former banking colleague, book club mermber and dear friend. She was a strong Christian and her faith gave her the courage to proceed us peacefully into death. May her wonderful sense of humor entertain the angels in heaven!
