Jay was as true a friend as anyone could ever ask for. He's been a brother to me since we were four. We came up together in Beavers and on the soccer pitch. We logged hours on playgrounds, in school hallways, cafeterias and on walks on home. We went to Jays games and played video games. And as we moved out on to our own, we stayed connected. Our bond and our conversations over the years impacted me in a way that few others ever have or ever could. Jay - you'll be remembered throughout eternity. The stories of you and your family will be passed down from me to mine. You will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace. To Kathryn, Julia and Darlene - I'm so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences.

Growing up, Jason was a quiet person with a quick sense of humour and a very generous nature. He was a devoted son and brother who was fiercely loyal to his family. His love of animals, especially dogs was apparent with his interaction with the family pet named Misty and later, as an adult, with his dog named Jesus. He had his finger on the pulse of collecting and the foresite to determine what to collect. He collected comics which were kept in pristine condition and stored in boxes. Fast forward a few years, while working at the LCBO he started collecting fine wines. He visited us in Waldemar for a weekend and went fishing in the back yard. He tried his best to catch a fish but; they just were not biting, however; he did manage to catch an old antique car fender. He decided that since the fish were not biting that he would scoop up some river rock and build a stone fire pit for us. That evening, we enjoyed roasted marshmellows over a blazing fire that he started with only 3 matches. We wish to extend our condolences, love and prayers to Darlene, Kathryn and Julia. Jason will be sadly missed by us and we know that he has earned his wings and is in heaven. Many angels were there to greet him including his dad and our angel Michelle. RIP Jason. Until we meet again. Love Uncle Bob, Aunt Linda and Aussie.

What I'll remember most about Jay was that though he was quiet on the outset, he had a certain joviality about him, combined with a sharp wit made for lots of laughs. Whenever we would get together at either his place in Toronto, or ours in the burbs of Toronto, we'd have fun, whether it was playing with our lego, He-Man and ninja turtle action figures, myriad of cars, hide & seek, water gun fights, whatever it was we had a blast, and I am thankful that we were able to get together as often as we did growing up. The consummate collector, he would proudly show me his collections of comics & other collectables that he had painstakingly acquired over time. I remember being impressed and thought then that he was on to something and perhaps would be rich someday. He told me that he had plans and was thinking about the future, a very uncommon thing for someone so young (he was perhaps maybe.. 10 at the time). He visited my mom & dad up in Waldemar for a week or so. I was there for a good portion of the week and I was able to catch up and just hang out with Jay. I did my best to help him catch a fish (as did my dad) but it just wasn't in the cards unfortunately. We sat around and enjoyed the fire nearly every night that week once it was built, my wife banishing me to the shower as I would come in smelling like a pepperette. I know for certain that he was rich in one thing, and that is love. He will be dearly missed by us all! Amber, the kids, and I want to extend our love, condolences and prayers to Aunt Dar, Kathryn, and Julia. RIP Jay, may we meet again. Love Cousin Bobby, Amber, Ben, & Jake

One summer day when I lived next to Darlene, I suddenly heard a knock at my front door. When I opened the door, Jason was standing there with a plated meal which he offered to me. He had been barbequing salmon for his girlfriend and himself and realized he had cooked too much. I was so touched by the fact that he would think to bring it to a neighbour. I don't know what he had put on the salmon but it was the best salmon dinner I have ever had. I have never forgotten his kindness.
