Loved Ones

From the laid-back town of Hilo, Hawaii where Jasmine grew up, to Honolulu where she spent her younger adult years, to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex where she settled and raised her family, Jasmine touched the lives of people. She never drew attention to herself, but people were drawn to her because she emanated love and compassion for them. It didn’t matter if it was a newborn or an elderly adult, she was always ready with a smile and an encouraging word. She was also a lover of all of God’s creation—the ocean, rivers, mountains, and any living creature. She revived distressed plants, beautified her home with Ikebana flower arrangements and bonsai plants, and is known to have rescued an animal or two. Well, okay, many, many, many cats and dogs!

During her early childhood, Jasmine’s home was on the grounds of a Buddhist temple, but shortly after moving to Honolulu as a young adult, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She married Morris, a pastor, in 1985, and it was befitting of her as she not only lived her life to draw others to Christ, but her passion was to share His love with anyone she met. “Ministry” was not a vocation to her; ministering to people was her life.

After a battle with covid, God called Jasmine home on September 8, 2021, where she is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

Jasmine and Morris have raised a daughter, Rhapsody (1988) who is married to Louis Gigliotti, and a son, Seizen (1989) who is married to Mandy. They have five granddaughters—Leila, Emily, Lotus, Lori, and Kelly. Jasmine also has a sister, Leona Morioka who lives in Hawaii.

Cat, Travel Rn At Baylor For Only A Short Time Who Was Lucky Enough To Care For Jasmine.

I took care of Jasmine for 4 nights in the ICU at Baylor. I never had the pleasure of meeting her kids or grandkids but Morris was such a great guy and you could tell they were deeply in love and both children of God, Morris showed me real faith in God and it brought me closer to our Lord and Saviour. It was my pleasure to care for Jasmine she was an absolute spitfire! I'm sorry it took me so long to write on her memorial page, I will never forget her.

I only knew Jasmine through the counseling situation, but that’s a place where things get very real very quickly. She was a bit of a force of nature - confident, secure in her faith, a straight shooter and very much in step with the Holy Spirit. Morris was the cake and she was the icing. God bless you all as you mourn your loss.

I remember going to marriage counseling with Mr. Morris, than one day Jasmine came to help with my wife/me. Made such difference and helped so much. In the end Mr Morris remarried us with Jasmine at his side. :) May God watch over you and your family during this time of loss.
