Janusz Kindler

Janusz Kindler left us at the age of 86 on December 8, 2020 in Warsaw. Full professor of the Warsaw University of Technology, graduate of the Tadeusz Reytan High School in Warsaw, dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology, head and participant of numerous Polish and international committees and scientific groups, chairman of the Polish committee at the Global Water Partnership. He worked with the European Commission, the World Bank and the United Nations. He participated in the Round Table talks that ushered in the end of the communist era in Poland. Warm, smart, and always very busy. Despite many adversities, he remained committed to developing his scientific career and international cooperation on environmental issues. He also supported civic initiatives for environmental protection. He loved jazz and sweets. He was very active, and enjoyed jogging, skiing, windsurfing, playing tennis. He loved the mountains and spent a lot of time in his favorite Tatras. He was kind and affectionate to others, knew how to listen, and was always ready to help. He had countless friends, and along with his wife Joanna, welcomed everyone in their home. He was a wonderful husband, brother, beloved father, amazing stepfather, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. We will never stop loving him.
