Janet Stevenson
January 2nd, 1941 - April 23rd, 2024
January 2nd, 1941 - April 23rd, 2024
Survived by husband, Mark; daughter, Maggie (Owen) Barnhill of Bedford; sisters, Cindy of Victoria; Penelope (Curtis) of Halifax; her grandsons, Patrick (21), Christopher (18), and Nicholas (17), were the light of her life. "Life is nothing but melody and Rythm" was always the answer as to how she managed to keep upbeat and supportive her whole life. Be it hockey games, voice recitals, or snuggles on the couch, she was always there for her family those around her. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She loved to travel, spending many months a year globetrotting with Mark, seemingly on a mission to see every country in the world. Having achieved her goal of visiting over 50 countries, her favourite would always be Scotland. Scotland holds a special place, as many close friendships were developed throughout daughter Maggies highland dancing career. Collecting friends along her travels, Janet loved to laugh and learn. She graduated with honours from UBC at age 53, fulfilling her dream of becoming a university graduate. She was loved by many and will be forever missed. Visitation celebrating her life to occur at Lokier Garden, 2527 Thompson Avenue, Victoria on Tuesday, June 4th, at 12p.m. Vigil Service will take play Wednesday June 5th at 8pm. Burial & Wake will Occur Thursday, June 7th at 4PM. Guests are invited to stay afterwords for prayers.
