I just became aware of Jim's passing. I was an English teacher and basketball coach at MLK while he was principal. He was always pleasant, smiling and respectful. My defining memory of him occurred one afternoon after school. Rick Surette, a fellow English teacher, and I had a five gallon bucket of softballs and were pitching/hitting them. Both of us played slow pitch and were getting in some swings and exercise. Jim must have seen us from his office window and could not resist. He joined us in his principal's suit and dress shoes. Great memory of a good guy! My condolences to family members/friends with the regret that he left far too early. I know he is missed, and I have so enjoyed viewing the on line pics and reminiscing.
