Loved Ones

My brother James was 7 years older than me—so growing up, we didn’t live under the same roof for more than a few years at a time. Because of this, I didn’t know much about his life. I had no idea what he did for a living or the things that he'd accomplished. Still, to me he was my hero. After all, he is my older brother. A few years ago, James’s life journey led him to California. This is when I really got to know him. Something I came to learn and admire about my brother was how ambitious he was. His ambitions and talents lead him to travel to 50 countries, and lead a team of 50+ people all by the age of 40. During these last few years, God not only gave me the gift of getting to know James better, but I also had the opportunity to love him deeply with Christ’s heart. Through the darkest times, God gave me the courage to fight with him. He always found something to laugh about and brought humor into every situation. My brother genuinely loved to make others smile. In fact, just a few weeks prior to his passing, James was looking for a collared shirt for a virtual interview… My brother was a fighter and my hero. I am so proud to be his sister. The most beautiful thing about James’ life in California was that God kept drawing him near. Although there were many battles in the physical and spiritual, God pursued him relentlessly. James began having deep revelations about the love and kindness of Jesus. Very shortly before James passed on, he shared visions with me about encounters that he had with Jesus. He even told me that Jesus has amazing sense of humor. It was miraculous that my brother met God in this way. The testimonies of these visions are encouragements that came straight from heaven. I have no doubt James is in paradise with Jesus right now. As I think about my reunion with James one day, I have the hope and faith that: not only is James in a better place—today, his joy has been made complete.

Well I must say I love your name. We(James/Kira) are so sorry to see you gone. In the time we have known you it has been a great pleasure. All the times we would go over to Pauls and I would hear that you were coming over was just a bright light in the room at that moment. All the times when we ate prime rib together was such fun times trying to keep up with you. I guess it's in the name. We never left any for the dogs...lol. All our talks on the porch, our walks in the neighborhood so special. You always had something interesting to say. You always asked about Kira and that touched my heart. Thank you. I know life hadn't been easy lately for you. But you were tough as nails never showing any pain. You will certainly be missed but the love you had for everyone will carry on through mom and Julie. God got himself a wonderful person. Love, James/Kira Brown

Dear brother James, I only met you a few times, but first time I met you, you instantly treated me like a close brother...that already says a lot about you. Although I only met you on a few occasions, somehow I was able to grasp the many qualities of your character. The reason being...you have a special unique character and personality that instantly jumps out of you. You are a brother who was truly loving, humble, friendly, kind, caring, funny, jolly, generous, at the same time sharp, strong, gangsta, street smart, outspoken, bold, courageous, sacrificial, cool and collective. Yes, I was able to see all these qualities about you just from meeting you a few times. But what stood out the most about you was the Love of Christ that flowed out of you in which I had the honored and privilege of experiencing. No doubt, you must be enjoying good times up there in heavenly paradise! I think a lot of us would rather be up there than here right now in these crazy times...well, til we meet again brother! Much love& respect, Will Suh
