I've known Jim for many years, we worked together on several committees, conferences and training events. He always greeted you with a smile and a sincere "it's great to see you". Even during phone conferences, you knew the smile was there. In committee discussions he would share his point of view but was always open to others thoughts and was willing to compromise. Questions from anyone were always welcomed and I'm sure many learned a lot from him as did I. Jim has had a very positive effect on improving electrical safety and will be missed.

Jim was an absolute giant in the electrical safety world and was “from the tools”. Worked his way up to Director and Vice President, very bright and knowledgeable. His NETA articles with Ron were always outstanding and I looked forward to them. I have some of the books Jim wrote and am so pleased that he signed them. He truly understood what workers, supervisors and managers need to do to come home to their families, bottom line really. I was the Chair of the ESW in 2007, Jim was the Vice Chair that year and Chair the next year which I know he really enjoyed. Jim and Vickie were gracious enough to invite me to their beautiful home in TX a few years back for dinner when I was down their way. They were both so happy to be around each other and it was such a lovely evening. When I think about Jim, I believe his generous spirit was what I admired and appreciated the most. He would give you absolutely any technical information he had available and as always, he had lots of it. Love his photo here on this site, great smile, great person. Definitely will be missed.

Met Jim about 17 years ago in Jewett, TX when we brought him in to start our electrical safety program. Great guy and good friend and mentor. He will definitely be missed.

I met Jim at electrical safety conferences and through his teaching passion I gained a lot of respect for him. He served as safety committee officer and I interacted with him on paper submissions and reviews. He will be missed by the entire electrical safety community that he touched during his life.
