October 27th, 1945 - April 30th, 2024
James Arthur Hudson, 78, went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was a wonderful husband and loving father who always put hos family first. He retired in 1998 from Marietta High School after 30+ years as a teacher. He also coached football, basketball, and weight training. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and working in his garden. He enjoyed going hunting and creating lifelong memories with his dear friends, Roger Pape, John Spence, Mike Spence, and Bob Beckner. He was most at home in the solitude of the woods where he felt closest to God. He was also a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings and enjoyed encouraging others with his words of honesty and wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Truman Hudson, and his sisters, Ruby Kathleen Stanley and Lorraine Frances Shaffer. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Hudson, daughters Lisa Hudson of Williamstown and Lori Ingram (Justin) of Parkersburg, and his sister Mildred Joan Ford (Jesse) of Nevada. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Talon Jones, Kaleb Roberts, Cameron Ingram, Isabella Ingram, and former son-in-law and dear friend, Kelly Roberts.
In lieu of funeral services, there will be a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
