July 22nd, 1952 - November 15th, 2020
Jim Christopher, 68 quietly left this earth at home with his wife, Nancy. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and dear friend. Born on July 22, 1952 in Bremerton, WA to Catherine Coleman Christopher and Thomas A. Christopher. During his childhood he lived in several east and west coast cities along with time in Guam and Key West, FL with his Navy family. Jim graduated from the University of Virginia and resided in Charlottesville, VA, Sunnyvale CA, Chadds Ford, PA, and eventually settled with Nancy in Sunnyvale, CA. A true gentleman with a huge heart Jim dedicated his time helping others working in several health service positions at Elk Farm for Boys in Virginia, University of Virginia Health Science Center and at the American Red Cross in California.
Jim had a boundless love of life and fought every day to make the most of the 68 years he was with us. He enjoyed cooking and appreciated a great meal savoring each bite. Jim loved adventure, traveling around the globe and relishing time shared with his family and friends, body surfing waves on the east coast beach’s or camping and hiking in the east coast and northern California woodlands. A talented athlete, he enjoyed the outdoors, water and snow skiing or swimming for miles on end. He was a steadfast supporter of his team the Virginia Cavaliers, enjoying watching the games with his buddies. He remained close to his University of Virginia, and Virginia Beach friends.
Jim showed great strength in the face of health adversity. Jim left an indelible impression and was an inspiration to all that met him. His wonderful qualities made him the special person he was, his intelligence, wit, charm, and a caring heart. He listened and helped anyone he could or who asked.
