Jacob Ledford
April 16th, 1993 - July 9th, 2023
April 16th, 1993 - July 9th, 2023
We celebrate the life of Jacob Matthew Ledford who passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, in his home in Austin, Texas at the age of 30. He was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on April 16, 1993. A ceremony to celebrate Jacob's life will be held at Galveston Beach, located at 3203 Road Less Traveled, Galveston, TX 77554. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of Jacob during this time of remembrance.
Jacob was the beloved husband and partner of Alexis Parodi and the loving father of Levi (7), Noah (3), and Emilia (1) Ledford. He was the cherished son of Kathy Dullea, the late Matthew Ledford, and Alyssa Abramson, and the cherished grandson of Christine Blatchford and the late Francis Dullea. Jacob is also survived by his brother, Joshua Ledford, his sisters, Elizabeth and Olivia Foley, Levi's mother, Sarah Whitney, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. His love for his family was without condition.
Jacob had a vibrant and outgoing personality. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was passionate, loyal, caring, charismatic, and stubborn headed. He was also wicked smart, entrepreneurial minded, and had a million amazing ideas a day. He loved his job and his team as Director of the Commercial Division at Flagstone Roofing. But above all, he was a family-oriented man and an affectionate daddy. Jacob loved his family, and he loved his mother. He overcame many difficulties in his childhood including four open heart surgeries, but he grew up to be a strong man and leader. He fought every day to prove himself. He always wanted more for himself and his family, and he was determined to make a better life for all of them.
Jacob was also what you would call a “sweat” (if you know, you know). He was a prolific gamer, a skilled bowler (though not as good as Lexi), and he loved fishing. He loved grilling and cooking for friends and family, and he especially loved throwing crawfish boils. He loved taking his family to the movies and having family movie nights at home. The number of Harry Potter marathons probably can't be counted. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his children. Jacob took great pride in the family he and Lexi built, and he cherished their life together. He was a devoted father who loved playing games, teaching his children new things, and creating lasting memories. Jacob poured himself into the time he spent with his children, self-evident by Levi, Noah, and Emilia’s fondness for their father.
Jacob Ledford will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His infectious personality, love for family, and charisma for life will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest easy in eternal peace.
