Probably very random to post here now, but I knew Jake back in high school. We stayed in touch for a while after he moved away from Deerfield, but admittedly hadn't been in touch for over a decade. Randomly thought of him today and decided to look him up and I'm heartbroken to find out he is gone. He was only in my life for a fleeting moment but in that time we had a strong and deep connection that left a lasting impact. He was incredibly intelligent, sharp witted, supportive, and had that devilish smirk and deep blue eyes that could charm anyone. We met in biology and I would have failed that class without his help. But the thing he taught me that stuck is the entirety of the lyrics to Barenaked Ladies' "One Week," which, even nearly 25 years later, is a song that always makes me smile and think of him. This photo was from 1999, and both the Moose shirt and bowler hat were favorites in his wardrobe at the time that he wore often. I hope the best for all the loved ones he left behind and send my extremely belated condolences.

Jake - I will never forget the canoe-camping trip on the Fox River we went on with BSA Troop 150. You had a plan that we were going to catch some fish and have them for supper. You were asking everyone what kind of fish they wanted you to catch. I still laugh at that to this day.

Thinking about you today. Its been 3 years since we lost you and it still feels like yesterday. I can’t count how many times I pick up the phone to try and call you and forget I can’t talk to you. I do however talk to you over the most mundane things I do throughout the day constantly. I wish you were standing by our sides on our wedding day but you will be watching over us. I will always miss you and will FOREVER love you!

Thought about you today. I had an idiot client and heard you making sarcastic remarks in my head. I miss hearing them in person. Love you always!
