Jack Elwell, 45, of Beachwood, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, August 30. Loving husband to Jamie (Kunihara), father to sons Colin and Justin, and son to William (deceased) and Peg (Gang) Elwell. Brother to Chris (Evelyn), Natalie, Pete (Sandy), Nick (Tami), Matt (Elena), Bill (Monica) and nephew, uncle and friend to many. Jack was whatever was needed in life. A life partner and the epitome of a good dad. He lived a full life watching and coaching his kids' sports, taking family outdoor trips and hosting many family and friend gatherings. You could also count on him being a fishing buddy, a listening ear, a laugh, or a person who would try and fix what was broken. He had the kindest eyes and a genuine heart. He will be missed more than words can describe. Due to coronavirus, there will be a celebration of life for close family and friends. More information to come. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you help spread kindness and enjoy the outdoors with close family and friends on behalf of Jack. This is truly what he would want. If you would like to make a donation, consider a gift to the Vinney Hospice of Montefiore Foundation (the hospice house that so warmly loved Jack in the last phase of his journey) or to the education of Jack's children (friends started a memorial fund to continue to support the two boys Jack loved so deeply). Jack, Jamie and I are convinced you are the green dot that kept showing up in my photos tonight. We were enjoying. You'd be so proud of how Jamie and the boys are doing their best while missing you so much. We are enjoying nature in your honor.

Shocked, saddened and sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I remember playing ball with him in high school, and have only seen him a handful of times since. Tough as nails, fearless, hard worker, and a quiet leader that had your back no matter what. The first thing that came to mind when I learned he was in his final days how I always felt so much safer on the football field when he was on it too. It was an honor, Jack, and it seems like yesterday. Brian #11
