Ivan "Bub" Ray Dutton

February 20th, 1948 - June 20th, 2025

February 20th, 1948 - June 20th, 2025

Ivan “Bub”  Ray Dutton, 77, of Marietta, Ohio, peacefully passed away at Arbors of Marietta June 20th, 2025.

He was born in Marietta, OH to parents Lois A. Dutton and Clyde R. Dutton of Marietta, OH.

He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judith A. Seevers of Marietta, OH. He is survived by his devoted niece Debbie (Donnie) Travis of Macksburg, Ohio; great-niece Brandi (Chris) Bias of Marietta, Ohio; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends who will remember him fondly.

Ivan worked for many years as a diesel mechanic with the United Mine Workers Association, based out of Marmet and Cabin Creek, West Virginia. His hands were never idle, and his heart was always under the hood of a car. A lifelong enthusiast of all things automotive, Ivan found great joy in getting together with his car buddies to tinker, rebuild, and dream — especially when it came to Corvettes and his beloved 1967 Chevy truck.

He also had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Bruce Springsteen, whose lyrics spoke to his hardworking, down-to-earth spirit.

Ivan will be remembered for his passion, his quiet strength, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His stories, his laughter, and his drive will be greatly missed.

Per his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later day.

A special thank you to Arbors of Marietta, Amedisys Hospice of Marietta and the Mid Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
