When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men. - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Mr. Hector Lloyd Duhaney was a teacher of Mathematics, family man, farmer and Justice of the Peace for the parish of St. Ann. He grew up in the district of Rosehall, Lewis, St. Ann, and he spent 35 years living in the community of Bamboo, St. Ann. He raised four children and spent 43 years with is wife Lurline.

He enjoyed teaching, and through his intellect, wit and charisma was able to help students to solve complex Mathematical problems. He was a proud graduate of The Mico (batch 145) and Nova Southeastern University where he earned his Bachelors in Business and Professional Management. His service to his community saw him being a counsellor, advisor and confidant. Mr. Duhaney's jovial nature and kindness made him a much loved person.

Sadly, on January 12, 2021, Hector passed away at the University Hospital West Indies after a brief illness.

The Thanksgiving service for the life of Mr. Hector Lloyd Duhaney will be on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the St. John's Anglican Church in Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
