“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
Papa is a soul that can never be forgotten. He had a sense of life and his wisdom was unmatched. Everyone who knew Papa always described him as kind, giving, wise, strong and so much more beyond that. Papa was a phenomenal father, grandpa, uncle, husband, and friend.
His name was Syed Hassan Ashraf, meaning "most honorable" and throughout his life he was an exemplification of his name. He was soft-spoken, yet firm, he was wise but with a childlike innocence, never in my life will I meet another soul like his, such a graceful being he was. Thank you for teaching us kindness in an unkind world. You were the best of us, papa.
We love you so much papa. Although we miss you, we know you are resting. You deserve it.
“The death of a loved one is a reminder to us. After all, life is a preparation for the day you will meet your Maker.”

words will never be able to express how much i will miss visiting on sundays. i remember when papa lived with us and we would have warmed milk with honey on papas bisthar and we would laugh and talk. ill forever miss papas laugh and smile while playing ludo or the look of concentration on his face. papa will forever be the one person i look up to. he taught me so much in the little time i knew him. i feel that even though hes passed, his character, and lessons will continue to teach me more as i progress in life. thank you papa. thank you for the love, thank you for the lessons, thank you for correcting me when im wrong, thank you for always being honest and patient. there’s so much i want to thank you for and so much ill want to tell you in the future. one thing papa mentioned a lot to me was “when will you graduate?” id reply with a laugh and say, “in a few years papa, ahmed and i will graduate together, you’ll see both of us.” knowing you wont see us breaks my heart because im doing it all for you. im doing it all to make sure the hard work you put in to this family paid off. ill make you proud papa, i promise. inshAllah we will be reunited in jannah. until then, i love you so much and i hope you’re resting well.
