**Obituary for Guy Stockton Perry, III**

*December 21, 1946 - July 27, 2025*

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Guy Stockton Perry, III, who left us peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas. Born on December 21, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, Guy lived a rich life filled with passion, kindness, and a generous spirit.

A proud alumnus of the University of Minnesota, Guy not only served his country in the Navy but also made a notable career as a technical writer for several high-tech companies. His sharp mind and dedication to his craft helped bridge the gap between complex technology and everyday understanding, leaving a lasting impact on those who worked with him.

But Guy was much more than his professional achievements. He was an avid genealogist, pouring over family history with the same enthusiasm that he brought to every aspect of his life. Whether he was analyzing ancestral records or performing at community events as an opera singer or Mall Santa, Guy found joy in connecting with others. His love for community extended to his role as a member and organizer of a local choir, where his warm presence and rich voice brought people together in harmony.

Above all, Guy was known for his kindness, generosity, and honesty. His family remembers him as a devoted father to Guy IV, Mark, and Andrew, and as a caring father-in-law to Lori, Kim, and Michelle. He took great pride in his grandchildren—Rachel, Seth, Jacob, and Gunnar—showering them with love and support, always eager to share stories and jokes that brought smiles to their faces.

In celebration of his life, we encourage those who knew Guy to remember the warmth he brought into the world. Should you wish to honor his memory further, donations can be made to diabetes research or any veterans assistance programs, reflecting his support for causes close to his heart.

Guy Stockton Perry, III will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of kindness and generosity lives on in the lives he touched.

Guy was our beloved Family Historian for the Stockton family and made such an incredible contribution to our collective knowledge of our family over the years. I hope I can help continue his legacy to our genealogy work.

I was married to Guy for 28 years. He was a great dad to our 3 boys, helping with homework, building dioramas, collecting leaves and insects, and more. He contributed to this world with his keen mind, willingness to go the extra mile, and his love for music. I had some very fine and stimulating conversations with him, especially when we were both working at the University of Minnesota when they did some of the very first bone marrow transplants. He was a special man. God bless him forever.
