I was freezing cold after a visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing, on a cold rainy day of winter, when I heard a voice behind me say: Fernandoo, Fernandoo I turned and saw Gretchen calling me (wrongly because I'm Alejandro) Where are you going? - she asked me I don't know but I need to drink something hot - I answered We were in Beijing, I think in 2004, providing financial training for the APHIS-IS office Then Gretchen took me to a small restaurant with communal tables where I tried the most delicious and warm Mongolian hot pot of my life. Of course I was able to relieve the cold I was feeling. Gretchen and I coincided in some other courses, I will always remember her with that optimism that she had and with that voice that she said "Fernandoo", "Fernandoo" Rest in peace dear Gretchen. Dear Gretchen, Rest in Peace. So many great memories and adventures shared together, I will always remember that you led me your room in Kelso and that was at the starting point of beautiful relation with the Strecker Family. Thanks for taking care of me. Thanks for showing me new things and sharing your international interest. I admire your love and special talent with dogs. Your heart and generosity is unforgettable.
