Grant Whytock

April 26th, 1958 - March 7th, 2024
It is with great sadness that Grant Whytock passed on the 7th of March 2024, aged 65 years.Much loved husband of Elaine, dad to Simon and Katie, father-in-law to Hayley and Lee, grandad to Dexter and Clara, brother to Fraser and the late Tizzy.
Grant was a popular figure in the North Lincolnshire community through his work with the fire service, as a youth worker, in his later years as a civil enforcement officer and as friend to many. We would love to hear your memories of Grant, no matter how small or silly you think they are. We know that he could be a master of mischief at times. We welcome all and every story and hope to keep his memory alive.
If you would prefer to send your story or memory privately, you can email them to SimonWhytock@gmail.com.

Grant was a huge part of my childhood. One memory was how me and Katie were able to be included in his youth work, whether it was scootering around the venue or going on the trips, and I remember the passion Grant clearly had for helping kids and providing a welcoming environment to anyone. My favourite memory has to be at Katie’s wedding. Just after I finished my speech and went to walk back to my table, Grant was the first one to stand up and come straight over and give me a massive hug. I know he wasn’t always the most affectionate so I really appreciated the warmth he showed me. He also kept saying thank you, and I know it’s because he was so proud of Katie. He celebrated big style that night because he was so happy to be celebrating Katie.

Grant will be sadly missed in our team. Every time he came into work after his days off the first thing he said was ‘ What’s new in the world of parking’. Still can’t believe I will not hear him say this or see him say in his car reading his paper. He was always welcoming to everyone. Once again sorry for you loss

Grant had the brightest smile! Which is clearly visible in the beautiful wedding photos of him and Katie! I remember him telling me off one night because I knocked on the door instead of just walking in the house. His words were something along the lines of….you have been coming here long enough now. I’m sure I speak for a lot of people…I feel very lucky to have known him. All my love x
