Gordon Roberts was a beloved husband, father and grandfather to his family. To know Gordon was to know his infectious laugh, smile and sense of humor -- all which made being around him a joy. He adored his wife, kids and grandchildren and had the blessing of being able to share lots of time over the years with those who were so important to him. Needless to say, Gordon will be terribly missed. In recent years, Gordon and his wife Judy resided in Panorama City in Lacey, Washington. Gordon enjoyed singing in the Panorama Choir, singing in the Lacey Presbyterian Church choir, playing pool, and hanging out in his office (affectionately called the "Dog House"), playing games and doing puzzles with wife Judy. Even when he battled serious health conditions he kept his spirits high. This battle eventually took him from us, but we know we will see him again. For now, Gordon is with Jesus in heaven, free from pain, and singing praises to the One who called him home. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Judy, daughters Kim and Kelly, son Michael, step-daughter Julie, step-son Jeff, and 6 beautiful grandchildren - Malcolm, Michelle, Grace, Rebekah, Lily, and Henry. This memorial is set up in the hopes that you would share your memories and stories as a way to preserve the life that he lived. Until the day we see you again Gordon/Dad/Grandpa, we want you to know that we loved you immensely and were so grateful for the time we got to share with you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Panorama Benevolent Fund in memory of Gordon Roberts or Providence Sound Homecare and Hospice - Lacey. ~What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us ~ Helen Keller ~Those who have brought us joy, made us laugh, and shown us love have given us the lasting gifts of a beautiful life and blessed our memories forever ~ Anonymous

Grandpa was always there to cheer me on. I remember if I was having a bad day in college, I would call him up. He was always so cheerful and happy to talk anytime I called. I am going to miss his laughter and jokes. When I was younger I would often spend time at Gordon and Judy's house. I remember my grandpa had vending machines for a while, and I would sometimes go with him in the summer to refill the soda or candy bars. Wherever he went, he would greet people with a smile. He also loved collecting coins. He showed me his whole collection at one point and I remember seeing a coin with horses on it. (Horses had been my favorite animal). My grandpa put it in a little protective case and gave it to me. I remember being so happy with my quarter, even if I could have found it anywhere else! I am very thankful to have such wonderful memories of grandpa, and he will always live on in my heart.

I have so many intertwined family memories of Gordon that make me smile! *Ice cream socials at Northminster Presbyterian where Gordon was fully decked out in a vest and the 1920's style hats of that era serving ice cream sundaes or supervising "us kids" as we began to participate more. Then moving onto the stage to perform for the "entertainment" portion of the program. Truly good times! *So many family activities together (4th of July & Christmas Eve parties, church camping trips, Buck Creek Snow Camp, Ft. Flagler) with Gordon's hearty laugh, big smile and participation in all the group activities. *I loved the "Dad" group of friends that were a stable constant in my universe: Ralph, Dick, Gordon - other's too - but this core grouping was pretty special. *Of course as a kid I was told that if anything "unfortunate" should (you know) "happen" to my parents...I'd become part of the "Roberts family". I thought that was pretty smart of my parents!;-) *My final most touching memory to share, was following Gordon's heart surgery when he was in rehab and I was able to be present at his care conference (by coincidence I was volunteering at his rehab site in preparation for grad school) and was able to be witness to the extraordinarily loving and caring relationship he had with Judy during a really trying time. Gordon will be missed greatly. I am so glad he was given over a decade of life following his heart surgery to make MANY memories with his family and friends. Much love to Judy, the Roberts and Packer families who will be missing Gordon's presence so much.

Gordon was the first member of Lacy Presbyterian Church to befriend us when we first visited looking for a new church home after we moved to Lacey. His and Judy's unreserved friendship was a major factor in our choosing LPC as our now beloved church home. We spent many hours car-pooling to and singing together in the LPC choir and our mutual interest in the Seahawks also drew us together -- we were never without opinions to share regarding a recent game. Now, we miss you dearly, Gordon, but we know that before long we will be seeing you when we join you in God's House with His son, Jesus. You lived a good life, Gordon, and made many people happier in the process. Good bye for now, dear friend. Ken & Sharon Bumgarner

Obviously as my father-in-law for 33 years I have plenty of memories. On the serious side, Gordon loved his family and was never shy to express that. He was such a loving man, I will deeply miss him. I wanted to share a few memories of mine: -Gordon loved to go to the Bothell 4th of July kids and adult parades. I remember walking down to get good seats, and just talking and laughing while we waited for the festivities to begin. -Gordon took me golfing, I think for my 2nd or 3rd time to a course near Port Townsend. He didn't warn me that the holes were each 6 miles long, or so they seemed. We had a great time together in the natural beauty of that place, and had PLENTY of time to share together, plenty. -Gordon loved to play games. How many hours we spent playing cards (Hand & Foot) and board games. -And finally for this remembrance, I remember going to Fort Flagler with Gordon, Judy and the Packer gang. We had such fun taking walks around the old fort, looking out at the amazing view and of course playing games. There are so many other things that I could mention, but just know that I look forward to seeing you again, Gordon.
