"All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,"
As You Like It- William Shakespeare
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Gordon Albert Case, "Bwanna", age 71 of Stockwell, London, who died on Thursday, July 9th at 11:47pm at Kings College Hospital.
Gordon was born on September 27, 1948 in Georgetown, Guyana to Frederick Walter Eleazer Case and Florizel Evadne Case and passed away on July 9, 2020, in London, England, survived by his son Jean Louis Jordan-Case. He had four siblings, Colin Case (deceased), Frederick Hamley Case, Faye Case, and Michelle Case-Ramalho. Gordon had one son, Jean Louis Jordan Case and three nieces and nephews Carlon Case, Richelle Case, and Jaimie Mancham-Case.
Gordon attended Saint Ambrose and Saint Stanislaus in Guyana and Eltham Green in London.
An actor, a poet, a screenwriter, a part time comedian, an avid traveller, a beloved father, an educated debater; these were but a few of the monikers that fit Gordon's roles in life. One of Gordon's proudest acheivements was being a part of the Royal Shakespeare Company and performing in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
As an adult, Gordon loved spending Thursday nights hanging out with his group of friends and cooking dinners; where they would all chat about their lives over movies, drink and games. Friends surrounded Gordon, for he was always the life of the party with his genuine curiosity and eagerness to debate. A winning smille was never far from his face and he could quote Shakespeare or the bible at the drop of a hat. He was a constant learner, reading and watching current events to stay informed about the world.
Gordon also believed it was important to support ones community. As one of the founding members of the Black Theater Initiative, he cared about black actors receiving equal opportunities for TV, film, and theater roles, and access to grants for productions. He was also passionate about Afro Caribbean children not being overlooked in the British education system.
We will remember him forever.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Manhood Academy or the Talawa Theatre Company would be greatly appreciated.
