This picture was taken on October 23, 2016, in Marina del Rey when Gerry and Ali were meeting Mae for the first time. Ali was pregnant with Quinn at the time so Gerry was about to witness the birth of his own child. This picture to me is the quintessential Gerry; barefoot on the floor and completely in tune and attentive to Donald and Mae. I still can't believe he is gone. I look forward to celebrating his incredible soul with everyone in Pennsylvania next week.

I first met Gerry when he was an infant in the arms of his Mom, my high school and forever friend Mary. The next time we met was 50 years later, Gerry was living in Santa Monica and already the father of Quinn and Ali's partner. We spent the day with Gerry, Ali and Quinn together with our grandson, Masayoshi. Gerry had Masayoshi working his way across the horizontal bars in the playground and Quinn and Masayoshi fed the ducks and played in the sandbox together. The next evening my husband Richard and I had dinner with Gerry and he gave us a spin in his beloved yellow convertible. The conversation constantly flowed at both meetings, and it was though we had known Gerry all these years when I hadn't seen him. But I guess that's how everyone experienced him. A more open person doesn't exist. What a gift! Photo is Gerry and Quinn at the playground.

Gerry, the world will not be the same without you. You had so much love for your family and friends. You will be missed greatly.

Gerry, I only met you once, but it was obvious that you and Ali were so right for each other, that you were good people and a good time, and that you were a really good dad. I am so sad for Ali and Quinn and will do my part to love them and hold them.

Although I write this on my own, I have no doubt that I am speaking for a group of Gerry's friends, fellow classmates, and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity brothers of York College of Pennsylvania from quite a time in our lives when you might not think someone could influence your life...along came Gerry!! A truly genuine, passionate, great friend to everyone that he associated with. Speaking with some of the fellows, he seemed to live 100 years in just a short 51. He wouldn't hesitate to invite us to wherever he had found himself! Rockville, Colorado, Costa Rica, California, he did it! We speak often of Gerry, but will forever keep him in our thoughts. Our condolences to his entire family.
