George J Stanley

On June 18, 2021 another decorated Korean War Veteran left this world to be with his brothers-in-arms and to the loving arms of his Lord and family members. George J Stanley, (June, Jr. ) passed away on June 18, 2021 with the loving care of Camden Clark Medical Center. He was 92 years young. June was born to Stella and George Stanley on October 15, 1929. One of 6 brothers and sisters, Paul, Wallace, Hazel, Charlotte, and Edward, all of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by cousin Donald Miller and his sons Kenny and Mathew, and wife Margrette, several nieces and nephews, Larry, Eddie, Jimmy, Bobby, Stella, Sherry, Sonny, Steve, sister-in-laws Loretta Stanley and Ethel Mae Stanley Gordon. Junior was a lifelong resident of West Virginia, he worked in the oil-fields, and eventually became a carpenter. He helped build several homes in the Wood County/Parkersburg area. In the last years of his life, he lived in the care of Norman (Sonny) Baker and Connie Roberts. He enjoyed visits from all family and friends as they would come to visit with him. He had a special attachment to his great nephew Adam Baker and great niece Vanessa Baker, as well as Norman and Kenny Roberts. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
