Veteran • Father • Grandfather • Great-Grandfather • Mentor • Coach • Friend

George Moore, beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, Vietnam War veteran, and cherished mentor, coach, and friend, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, NV. He was born in Greenville, Texas and raised in Northern California’s Bay Area, the heart of a large and loving family that instilled in him a deep, lifelong devotion to kinship. That love extended far and wide—to his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—each of whom he adored and uplifted throughout his life.

George served honorably in the Vietnam War, demonstrating a profound sense of courage, loyalty, and service to country. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with General Motors, working in assembly plants across Fremont, CA; St. Louis, MO; and Shreveport, LA, before retiring with distinction. His work ethic was matched by a quiet humility and deep pride in contributing to something greater than himself.

George's first marriage to Marva Armstrong (formerly Lewis) brought into the world his two greatest treasures: his daughters Charla Moore and Charlene Moore. He loved them deeply and poured his heart into fatherhood—always present, always supportive, always proud.

A man of many passions, George had a special love for horses, spending his younger years raising and grooming them as a treasured hobby. In his leisure, he found joy in playing golf, gathering with lifelong friends, and following the excitement of sports—especially golf, baseball, and track and field.

Later in life, George rekindled a youthful love and found true companionship in his high school sweetheart, Pamela Peterson Moore, who became his beloved wife and life partner. Together, they built a life rich in family, travel, laughter, and legacy—filled with memories shared with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and adventures around the globe.George’s life was a masterclass in love, quiet strength, and unshakeable values. He was a man who showed up—with kindness, wisdom, and generosity—for every person who needed him. Whether as a father, grandfather, mentor, coach, friend, or fellow veteran, George left a profound mark on every life he touched.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Moore, daughters and sons in law, Charla Rice and Anthony Rice, Charlene Drain and Corey Drain, and bonus daughter Tonya Walls and Terrance Walls, grandchildren, D’Anthony Rice and wife Adriana Jones-Rice, A'Chari Rice, Charbri Drain, Charionne Drain, Cori Drain, Jelani Walls and his wife Bolanle Adesokan, and great grandchildren, Jaycion Rice (JJ), Carter Rice, and Kylie Lesure.  He is also survived by siblings, Lena, Deborah (Deb), Morris, and his wife Dorothy, as well as a wide circle of loved ones who will carry his memory with joy and gratitude. His passing was preceded by his parents Paul Moore and J. Margaret Moore, siblings, Paul Moore, Phil Moore, and Johnny Moore (Bonnie), and grandson, Terrance Jerome Walls II.  His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will live on through the stories we tell, the lessons we carry, and the love we share.

A private family memorial with military acknowledgement will be held at the burial site near his home in Henderson, NV, followed by a dinner honoring and celebrating his life. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in George’s memory to any cancer charity, local veterans’ support organizations, or a cause that reflects his spirit of service, family, and community.

Pam I was so sad when Linda told me about George passing. I always enjoyed talking to him when he was out front and I was walking by with my dogs or when we all got together at Sherrie and Daryl’s house to play games. If there’s ever anything I can do for you or help you with please feel free to reach out to me, (760) 805-7367. Take care and I’ve been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. George was not only a patient to me… He was a friend both him and his wife. I got the privilege of taking care of him at his house for a couple of years and he was so extraordinary and never lived ordinary. I would be so excited to go over and hear what vacation or where he went. He once told me that life is short and to go on vacation. He not only was a great patient, he taught my youngest son a little bit about track and field and tried to teach him a couple of things. You will never be forgotten my friend… I will always remember you smiling even at the toughest times.
