William J. Barker, Chaplain
George Block, Commanding Officer, USS William M. Wood (1957-1958) Dear Elizabeth, I have just been made aware of the loss of your beloved Husband George. As Chaplain of the USS WILLIAM M. WOOD Association, I want to take this moment to send you this note of love and encouragement on behalf of George’s shipmates and all of us on the Executive Board of the USS WOOD Association. He will not grow weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. “He gives strength to the weary and increases power to the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31) Elizabeth, again on behalf of George’s shipm
