It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, husband and Papa, Gary Rickard. After suffering an unexpected and sudden heart attack on Tuesday, March 15th, he left this life, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, March 18th.

Our family has created this space for friends and loved ones to connect and share memories, stories & photos. Please share this with anyone who could help us celebrate his life and legacy.

A memorial celebration will be planned at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which is a cause close to our hearts.

Here's a picture of the boys, including Uncle Gary at Niagara, I think. My favorite thing about Uncle Gary was his love for the Cowboys, which was my favorite team the year they won Super Bowl XXX. I also him come alongside my parents so much in their latter years when they needed more help. Love the Gary Rickard family and wishing you all to feel the love and presence of family as you grieve.

Jo, Court and Brandi- I am so sorry for you loss. I don’t even know where start with Gary memories from the past 37 years that I was honored to call him my brother-in-law. So much fun - fishing, prepping for 4th of July parties at the ranch, hearing his rendition of “Blue Berry Hill” during karaoke, more fishing, him driving 60 miles to help us with a broken car issue, “watching” and texting during Big Ten basketball and football, more fishing…. the memories go on and on. Knowing and interacting with Gary has made me a better person and I know I’ll think of him, especially every time I cast a wacky worm.
