Gary Allen Anderson, 86, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 19, 2024.

Gary was born February 25, 1938, in Borger, Texas to Kenneth and Edna Anderson. He attended Phillips High School in Phillips Texas, graduating in 1956.  Over the years, he enjoyed attending his annual high school reunions and connecting with classmates.

He attended UT Austin and transferred to the University of Kansas where he graduated in 1961 with a BS in Business Administration.  He completed 3 years of military service in the Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 1961-1964.  He was always proud to have served his country.

He married Charlen Groenig on December 6, 1965.  They had 2 children Melinda and Marni. Gary  leaves behind: 2  daughters: Melinda Anderson and Marni San Jose; Son-in law: Ellis San Jose; Grandchildren: Anderson, Amelia, and Everett, and Little Brother Brad Clasgens from the Big Brother/Big Sister Organization.

Gary worked for various companies in the area of computer software training, working to bridge the gap in communications between executives and the IT department. He retired from Martin Marietta in the mid 90’s.

Gary was a student of history and loved to read and travel learning about many different aspects of US history.  Spending time with Gary was always an opportunity to learn.

He was also an avid country music fan, loved dancing, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, cooking, and was a wonderful chef.  He volunteered his time,   took leadership positions, and gave back in many areas.  Some of them include Big Brothers/ Big Sisters Organization in both Texas and Colorado, the Colorado Mountain Club, The Timberline Tall Club, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, The Women’s Bean Project, History Colorado, the Jaycees in Kansas City, and Toastmasters.

He will be missed dearly and always by family and friends. Rest in Happiness, Love, and Peace Daddy ❤️

Our family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to The Women’s Bean Project, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, or Phillips High School Alumni Association (https://phillipsblackhawks.com/index.htm)
