Gail Green

Gail (Franchini) Green passed away on January 23, 2021, after a brief illness at the age of 80.  She was born and raised in San Anselmo by Catherine & William Franchini, attended Drake High School and graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1961 from the Haas business school. She met her future husband there, a football player at Cal, and she and James Edward Green were married in July, 1961. She loved following Cal football and other sports. They had two children, Jim and Susan, before her husband James died after an extended bout with ALS in 1985. Gail was strong and independent and raised he children as a single mom during her husband’s bout with ALS at a time when this was not common. She was a great accountant who served as the Larkspur Finance Director in the 1980’s while living in Novato. She loved the Hawaiian Islands and maintained a condo on Maui, where she enjoyed her time there often. She later moved to Vancouver, Washington, where she met a wonderful man and she and Joe Pinzone were married in 2015. She is survived by her husband Joe, children Jim Green and Susan Green, her sister Carol Wharton, brother William Franchini, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  She was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.  May she rest in peace.
