Gabryelle Lelehnia Allnütt
1/29/92 – 9/6/21
Gabyrelle was born in Bishop, California and grew up in Mammoth & Orange California. Gabby, age 29. was tragically killed, September 6th,2021 in a home invasion in Charlotte, NC. She had evacuated from New Orleans, where she was living, to escape hurricane Ida. She was working in an art studio teaching children the art of ceramics. Her passion.
In her short life she accomplished so much. She was a vivacious child, striving to explore the world. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She competed in dressage. She also adored her French bulldogs. She loved ballet, music and art. She got to see the world traveling to Australia at age 3, Africa at age 10 on a church mission to help build a church and to France to teach English. After graduating High School in San Clemente, California she attended Stony Brook University in Long Island NY and received her B.A. in Art History & French Literature. She followed her dreams of Paris and went to teach English in France. Upon her return to the USA, she trained with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to lead active engagement tours for school children (K-12) at their institution. She continued to work with various art institutions and assisted artists in studio before pursuing her own practice in ceramics. Prior to moving to New Orleans, she worked as an assistant and taught ceramic classes at studios. During her years in New York, she also worked as a Nanny to several families because of her love of children. Gabby was a self-taught ceramicist with a background in art history and child development. Her art focused on glaze chemistry. Her sculptural forms are a culmination of play, investigation, and eccentricity inspired by colors and textures found in nature. She even held classes in New Orleans, creating Pleinairclay, in the park during the Covid outbreak. She was resilient and inventive in her approach to life.
Gabryelle is survived by her mother, Heather Erickson & Stepfather Eric Erickson; Father, Bret Allnut & Stepmother Lori Shaffer Allnutt; Sisters, Raffaella Erickson & Bijou Carrel; Brothers, Zack Allnutt & Roland Tribbey-Erickson; Grand Mothers Jan Allnutt, Carol Morris, & Barbara Murray. I immediately reached out to my community for resources to help and found that each city has resources to assist you in your recovery. They included help accessing information about the crime as well as free therapy sessions. I found tremendous support from dyingingace.com; NAMI.org; victims of violent crime; traumarecoverycenter.org. Please seek help if you are struggling to cope.

I remember Gabryelle when she was teaching English in France in 2013-2014. I was in charge of the English-speaking assistant in Jarny and we became close. She spent her first night at home and often came home for WIFI. She was there for my 50th birthday . I also remember October 26th, it was a very nice day and we went cycling . It is unforgettable. Gabryelle was an open-minded and kind person, the students liked her very much.I feel so devastated by the news of her terrible death. Gabryelle, you were like a daughter to me during your stay in Jarny. I will never forget you.
