Fred L. Quintana, a life-long resident of Espanola, New Mexico, peacefully passed on August 17, 2022 at the age of 80.     Fred was born on August 4, 1942 and was the fourth child of the late Fred and Amelia (Sisneros) Quintana.  From a young age, Fred was active, enjoying the outdoors, basketball, baseball, and especially camping and fishing with his brothers.     Fred graduated from Espanola Valley High School in 1960 and later received a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Michael's College in 1965. Upon graduation, he worked as an Accountant with Hunter’s Motor Company, then for the State of New Mexico, from which he retired in his early 40s. Thereafter, Fred ran a successful Bookkeeping and Income Tax service for over 30 years, serving the Northern NM community. Fred played baseball well into his 30s, which led to coaching Little League and Senior League with his brother, Johnny. Fred was also a member, bartender, and accountant for the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3695.      Fred was the beloved and dedicated husband to Diana Quintana, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years of marriage (second marriage). He always enjoyed going on long rides with his wife, grabbing a burger, or simply holding hands while watching TV. He was the loving father of Kenny Quintana (Beatriz), Michael Quintana (Valerie), and Elizabeth Zunshine (Phillip). He was a devoted step-father to Donna Rios (Rudy), David Lopez (Sandra), Debbie Jennings (Roy), and Diego Lopez. He is also survived by his brother, Johnny and wife Ester Quintana  of Espanola, NM, 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Amelia, his brothers, Fred and Perry, and his step son-in-law, Rudy.     Visitation services will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola from 10 am - 11 am. The funeral mass and burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola at 12 pm. The Quintana Family has entrusted the care of their beloved Fred to Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations of Espanola, NM.
