Dr. Francisco de Leon Ponce, 77, of Parkersburg, passed away July 14, 2018 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Amedisys Hospice. He was born April 2, 1941 in Alcala, Philippines, the son of Licerio Pablo and Lucia de Leon Ponce. Dr. Ponce was a Urologist in the Parkersburg area for many years. He is survived by his wife Peggy L. Adams Ponce; his son Erwin, his wife Cathrina; his daughter Mia and Victor and their children—Catalina and Matias; his niece May and her husband Mario; his sisters Mauricia and Min; and his brother Ambrosio. He was a loving father and an especially wonderful grandfather. A memorial service will be held September 29, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church in Parkersburg, WV with Fr. John A. Rice presiding.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Ponce. I worked with him at St. Joseph Hospital. He was kind to us on the urology floor and always had a joke or something funny to say. He was my physician for many years. Thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time. He will be missed by many.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dr.Ponce's passing. I worked with him at St.Joseph's Medical Center when I was in ICU. I will never forget his kindness and laughter. One time he came in wearing a black tee-shirt with silver under his lab coat that said, "Damn I'm Good."
