On March 7th,2024, Fabian Lopez Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born on 4-24-1957 to Fabian Lopez Sr. and Hilda Garcia in Alice, Tx. Fabian was 66 when he passed away.

At the age of 15, Fabian met the love of his life, Jeanine, in Grand Rapids, MI. They were together for 52 years. They went on to have 4 wonderful children, Eric, Andres, Anita, and Dominic. Their love for each other and their kids never faltered one bit. His faith was unshakeable.

Fabian’s favorite hobbies included playing softball, fishing, golfing (even though he wasn’t the best at it), which he did for many years, but most of all the time spent with his family. Fabian was a science fiction fanatic. He loved it all. He loved comic books, and his favorite superhero was Wonder Woman. Knowing Disney was Jeanine’s happy place he took her and his grandkids to Florida as often as he could. He knew it like the back of his hand. He also liked to take his so-called shortcuts that ended up making the trips at least 20 minutes longer. Fabian always had a smile that lit up the room.

He fought cancer for many years and didn’t let anyone see the pain he was going through. He was always willing to make someone’s day better.

Fabian is survived by his wife Jeanine, Children, Eric (Stacy), Andres (Rachel), Dominic (Nicole) and Daughter Anita. His father Fabian Sr. (Beatriz), his mother Hilda (Oscar), Stepfather Joe Garcia and mother in law Joanne Wiebenga. His grandchildren, Eric Lee, Andrew, Santos, Michaela, Dalton, Antonio, Isaiah, Elyssia, Giavanna, Ezekiel, Shyla and two Great granddaughters. He had ten brothers and sisters (Xavier, Melissa, Illiana, Joe, Lybia, Janie, Joe, Bebe, Belinda and Eddie).  He also collected many other children and grandchildren who called him papa along life’s journey. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Aricella and brother Joe Molina.

Fabian was loved and will surely be missed by many. He is no longer suffering and is with our great lord and with those who have passed before him.

Per Fabian’s wishes he has been cremated and there will be a celebration of life/party soon.

Fabian was the kindest most compassionate man I know. He accepted everyone as who they were. And I don’t mean he evaluated a person. I never once got the impression that he judged someone as good or bad. He honestly just accepted them. Thank you for teaching me.

Always a happy, loving soul with the best sense of humor and smile! He wasn’t blood but always considered him an Uncle! Loved he still called me Choppers, my childhood nickname
