Proverbs 31:10 - “Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far more than that of corals.”

Eva, our mother was never one to seek the spotlight. She was never at the front of the line, never wanted to have the attention on her.

She quietly did whatever needed to be done for her family, her friends and her God, Jehovah.

We grew up never wondering if there was going to be clean clothes for us to wear, no small feat with four boys and one girl who spent their time outdoors as much as possible collecting snakes and frogs and building forts. We would relish the once-a-week ability to slip into our freshly made beds to the crisp feel and smell of clean sheets, washed and hung on the line.

We grew up in a household that didn’t know what Kraft dinner or store-bought bread was.

Our family adventures consisted of trips to spots where the blueberry fields were plentiful, to the Okanagan in the summer to pick cherries, peaches, apricots, apples or anything else that grew. And then everything magically appeared in sealed jars as we slept.

Our vacations were not at resorts. We spent them camping and in the outdoors.  Though, as we think about it now, for mom, it is hard to understand how an 11 km hike up a mountain into our favorite camping spot carrying everything you need to keep a family of seven fed, clothed and sheltered for a week could be described as a vacation for her.

Hospitality was our parents’ calling card. There was always room for another plate at the large table, and for those truly memorable extended family dinners, mom was in her element. Even the rough looking mountain man and his dog who appeared at our door one Sunday benefited from her hospitality and generosity.

Under her and Dad’s guidance, there were always chores that needed to be done - weeding for the acres of gardens that we had or dishes to be washed and dried in tandems of two.

She was an amazing support for Dad in training us to love and worship Jehovah. With her support, Dad was able to enjoy many privileges within the congregation.  And she was always open to expanding spiritual opportunities, from helping on Kingdom Hall builds, to moving lock stock and barrel to Montreal to assist with the construction of the Assembly Hall. Then in their seventies, it was astonishing to see the apartment covered in sticky notes as they tried to learn Bengali to assist with the local group.

To us she was tireless, always sewing or cooking or baking or canning.

Helen Keller once said, “I wish I could accomplish a great and glorious task, but perhaps just small tasks as though they were great and glorious.” As we think about it today, that was our mom.

By today’s standards, there was no task that she accomplished that could be defined as great and glorious, but she accomplished every small task that she did, as though they were great and glorious, and the collective record of that is a life well lived in the service of her family, her friends, and her God.

Proverbs 22:4 stated “The result of humility and the fear of Jehovah is riches and glory and life.”  As a family, we are confident Jehovah will richly reward Mom’s humble faith and we will see her again in his promised paradise on earth.

We send our love and sincere sympathy. We enjoyed being in the Snowdon congregation with Roy and Eva for many years and even learning Bengali with them. What an amazing team, like Aquila and Priscilla! As a couple they were always ready to help others, feed crowds and have a good time when there was an opportunity for a party! We fondly remember Eva’s warm smile and gentleness as she zealously and loyally supported Roy in his assignments. She seemed to never tire out! In our travels throughout Eastern Canada during the last 16 years, we have heard firsthand how your family is known and loved! May Jehovah continue to “comfort your hearts.” 2Thess 2:16,17

Mom is such a small word but it is fulled with such meaning and warmth. That is I feel about my mother there is never enough words to express the feelings I hold in my heart for her . The memories I have of her will always be there to comfort and teach me life’s important lessons . The way she treated people was truly amazing. I remember her taking of my grandfather when he was older , he would ring the bell he had and either dad or mom would come running day or night . No complaints just love . She would fly across Canada to go help take care of her sister and she was only in her late 80 the last time she did that . What a dinamo !!! Mom was TrueType special to us all and she is special to Jehovah . Dad sure knew how to pick them 67 years ago . Love you mom

I will always remember granny as a little dynamo. Always on the go....cooking, cleaning, taking care of her garden , and trying to look after anyone in view. My dad and his siblings are a testament to how good a job Granny and Poppa did raising their kids and an even greater testament to the willpower of granny to raise 4 rambunctious boys and one girl. She was small in stature but had strength in spirit and willpower. I look forward to the new system to see that again and to hear her getting after grandpa with her trademark " Uhh....Roy!" With a little slap to his shoulder. Thank you for all the hardwork of everyone involved in planning and preparing the memorial and setting up this beautiful memento page.

Dearest Godin and Sonmor Family, I'm so very sorry for the anguish you have been suffering. Isaiah 12:2 "Look! God is my salvation. I will trust and feel no dread; For Jah Jehovah is my strength and my might, And he has become my salvation" May Jehovah continue to strengthen you during such trying times. Looking at the pictures of Eva and Roy and the family, instills in us the desire to keep on relying on Jehovah until we are reunited with our loved ones. May Jehovah bless you all richly. Look intently to the future when we will FULLY enjoy the real life. Warmest Christian Love Nicolazzo Family
