Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Tony Sanchez, Pete Sanchez, and Joe Sanchez; and 4 sisters,  Carol Montgomery, Rita Oropeza, Maria Sanchez-Padilla, and Beatrice Aranda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dolores Sanchez; his daughter, Laura Sanchez (Billy); son, Ernesto Sanchez (Doreen); grandchildren, Anthony Sanchez, Monica Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Johnathen Sanchez (Evelyn), and great grand daughter, Sophia Mae Trujillo.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Bernie Carderra, and Sarah Macias and several nieces and nephews.
