Mr. Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu "Anyi" Anyadike was born on April 17, 1946, to Pa Lawrence and Mrs. Eunice Anyadike (both of blessed memory) in Ifite Nanka, Anambra State, Nigeria. In 1978 he married a lovely damsel, Njideka Onyemobi who, during a blissful union, presented him with five wonderful children: Obinna, Chinonso (Adaobi), Kosisochukwu, Ikenna and Anuli (Nnenna), who are now pursuing flourishing careers in and out of Nigeria. Emmanuel attended St. James Anglican Primary School, Nanka; progressed to St. Augustine's Grammar School, Nkwerre, Orlu, Imo State and completed his Lower Six at St Patrick's, Asaba, before the Nigeria-Biafra war broke out. After the war, he rounded off his Upper Six studies at Government College, Afikpo at their temporary site in Enugu. For his university education, he attained the distinction of being in the first-ever set of students to study Quantity Surveying in a Nigerian university - in 1971 he was admitted to Ahmadu Bello University and graduated as a Quantity Surveyor in 1974. From there he joined the second set of NYSC, following the pioneer set of 1973. He was posted to the then Southeast State (now Cross River and Akwa Ibom) where he served in Calabar in the Ministry of Works. He was a special blessing as this was the first time the State enjoyed the services of a Nigerian-trained Quantity Surveyor. On 10th October 1990, the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria registered him as a qualified Quantity Surveyor no. 036, and he continued to take an active part in the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, serving in various capacities, including presenting several papers on cost control and construction industry-related topics. Emmanuel diligently pursued life-long education, gaining a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), as well as a Diploma in Land Law, also from UNILAG. He built his career with Associated Quantity Surveyors (AQS) and rose to become the Managing Partner. He later joined PROMACO Associates, an international consortium of consultants in the construction industry as the Managing Director. In 2004 he established his own practice, Costel Quantity Surveyors, from which he retired in 2017. Through the years Mr. Anyadike belonged to various civic, community and networking groups, rising to positions of influence and authority, always displaying godly wisdom in forging friendships and stimulating growth. He earned a noble reputation as a peacemaker who would always use wise words to douse a tense situation. As an evident philanthropist he helped countless people achieve their dreams of gaining academic qualifications or starting a business. He touched so many lives for good. He served as the President of the Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU), as well as Vice-President, Ndigbo Lagos. By heritage and experience Emmanuel was a disciple of Jesus Christ, a faithful witness sharing his testimony-filled life, and ministering to all in his orbit. As usual, he pursued knowledge and prepared himself by attending Bible College. The record of his unbroken service in the Lord's vineyard is long; below are a few highlights: A life member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI); Pioneer President of the Executive Chapter of FGBMFI, Victoria Island, Lagos. All glory to God! The oldest of four children, he was a big brother to his three sisters: late Mrs. Maudline Adachie, Dr. (Mrs.) Edith Ezeike, and Mrs. Ngozi Onyemuchara. He is also survived by two grandsons - Noah Ifeanyi and Zac Obinna, 13 nephews and nieces, daughter-in-law, Emma, as well as other extended family members. Emmanuel passed away on January 3, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, at the ripe age of 76.

Dear Mrs. Njideka Anyadike, It is with shock that we received the news of the passing of your dear husband, ELDER EMMANUEL ANYADIKE. From my time with you in Nanka, Awka and Lagos, I know that you two were quite close. Late Mr. Anyadike honoured servants of God and sought a deeper relationship with God in his lifetime. I write on behalf of my wife to send our condolences to you, the children and grandchildren. We pray that all travels that will have to do with the funeral shall be safe and that God shall guide you and the family in the planning for the funeral. We pray that many shall be reconciled to God and that everything in the funeral shall give glory to God. We know that you are a woman that has had a close walk with God; we encourage to continue to find solace in the love of your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Our prayers for you are from Isaiah 65:21-23. BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT! Much blessings. His and yours, Apostle Onyechi Daniel, President, Elohim Powerhouse Ministry Int'l, Port Harcourt.

REFLECTIONS ON A VERY CLOSE FRIEND. Emma's death came as a shock to us in the family. Wahehe, as I usually call you, I had called within the week to sympathise with you over the death of Amamchukwu, your cousin. Little did we know that it was the last conversation. In less than a week I got the news of your death. I have been reflecting on our lives together. Emma, you remained a very close friend from childhood. We started in class one in 1953 in St James' Primary School Nanka, lower Standard. We picked and licked ‘delicious' black ripe lantana seeds. Though very young and small we took part in fetching stones from the erosion site for the building of the first ‘zinced' St. James' church and we participated in carrying soil to construct the school football field. Happily as building professionals we could later design and direct the building of the present St. James' church and the ‘yet to be completed' Nanka Civic center or shopping mall. In class four we moved to the Upper Standard. Your house was closest to the school. During breaks we sneaked to the house for a drink of water and shared in whatever was left for you to eat after school. At the end of the final exams in each class we never forgot to bring along our ‘catapults' for the exiting hunt for birds, squirrels and rabbits. When we were lucky to make a kill, ten of us shared one rabbit or one squirrel. Though the killer took the head, we shared the remaining meat equitably and nobody ever complained of being cheated. Our usual activities at the time included compulsory Saturday work (olu Saturday), choir practice at St James' Church and the Children's meetings. We participated in these activities contentiously. At the completion of primary school we all dispersed to different secondary schools unable at the time to speak the English language fluently. We kept in constant touch through letter writing and looked forward to the holidays. It was always a great pleasure walking in a group from Nwagu to Afo-Udo and back to the admiration of many. Emma, we were a bridge between the old and the new, the first influx of Nanka children into secondary schools. A few weeks to our Higher School Certificate exams the Biafra war broke out. When we could not go back to take our higher school exams (as school classrooms were part of targets for Nigeria Air Force) we ended up being absorbed into the Biafra Army. We were lucky to come back alive at the end of the war. You can recall how happy we were when you joined late Dr. John Nwosu and I at Enugu to complete and take the Higher School Certificate exams. Government Secondary School, Afikpo had been moved to Enugu because the school was occupied by the Nigerian Army. Our study together was of great mutual benefit as we passed our Higher School and GCE ‘A' Level Exams very well. At the end of higher school we taught temporary in different secondary schools. I had given up my admission in Ahmadu Bello University for the newly established school of Architecture in Unilag and was making arrangement for you to join us when I was pained to learn that you had gone to Ahmadu Bello University to study Quantity Surveying. After our successful university studies we had always been very close. We fully discussed and fully agreed and approved of our respective partners before our marriages. I thank God for the wise choices we made because we never for once shared any problems in our marriages. Emma, our homes have remained very happy ones and our families have remained very close. I thank God for the relationship and I hope our children will take advantage of this. Emma, you developed yourself to the enviable height from the scratch, you worked so greatly, as a professional, served the church, the community and humanity very well. May the Good Lord honour your works and grant you eternal rest in Jesus name. Amen. Adieu until we meet again! Arc. Chief Ruby /Ebele Okafor and Family.

TRIBUTE TO EMMANUEL IFEANYICHUKWU ANYADIKE - A TRUE FRIEND. Emma, the news of your death came to my husband and I as a rude shock. We didn't hear that you were ill. We only knew you were on holiday in the USA with your lovely and loving wife, Njide. Then came the bombshell that death had struck! Wicked death located you where you were relaxing in the US and having a "fresh breathe" away from "home". Without any warning, that thief that cometh not but to steal, to kill and to destroy struck! The action was so fast, so sudden and so unexpected! Not even Njy, your ever attentive and alert heartthrob could do anything! Like a flash, it was all over. Emma, the strong man, the kind man, ever ready to offer help, rendering good advice and ideas. Papa Obinna, I can't help going back to our early youthful years. Memory lane! Two young couples, having so much in common. Two Quantity Surveyors and very close friends; that were closer than brothers. Married to two strangers (graduates of French Language) that became closer than sisters! The relationship transcended beyond the two nuclear families to embrace relations both within Lagos and the villages (Oko and Nanka). Time and space would not allow to say how good a friend and brother you were to us and what a wonderful person your Creator made you. Suffice it to say that we really appreciate everything you stood for. Your demise has left a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill. Our hope is that the Almighty God, whom it has pleased to call you home at this time, will Himself fill the gap and comfort your dear wife, children and loved ones left behind. Emma Anyadike, Ezi enyi, Nna nwa anyi, you have done your bit, you have fulfilled your purpose on earth. Go on, go Home and rest in the Bossom of our Lord Jesus. Till we meet to part no more, FAREWELL, dear friend. SIR ISAIAH AND LADY GLORIA EZEZIKA.
